I love my Louis Ferre wigs, but they're not the most comfortable wigs. I only have worn 5 in my life, and I love the color and fit of LF wigs. I just wish they were more comfortable. Are there any wigs, though, that are TRULY comfortable?

I am fortunate enough to work varied hours, 3 hours here and there, so as soon as I get home, I immediately pull off my wig and feel so free! (Then my head gets cold and I put on a sleephat :) I don't know what I would do if I worked 8 hours/day and had to wear a wig all that time.

So ... any suggestions about truly comfortable wigs?

Aimee,

I see you did not get any responses to your question and I wonder if you came up with a solution on your own. I. too, have a petite head and have searched for a "back-up" wig that is inexpensive and comfortable. In fact, I think my size is extra-petite. Have you looked into children's wigs?
Wig Pro makes a petite wig all remy hair and is very confortable its called alexandria

Aimee, I am on here just searching for questions and answers...saw this old post...did you find anything? Just thought I would comment, I know what you are saying about finding a petite wig...as I am in the same boat. My finding is Racquel Welch petite fits and feels about the best of the synthetics I have..but her colors are not for blondes...but I still know what you mean about wearing a wig for any length of time...I can't wait to flip the wig and be free of it...mine get itchy, they slip, and if I make it too tight so it won't slip, I get a wicked headache...can't win. Margu also has petite wigs, I have one that is a salon only style called Utopia Petite...in 614H...paid $260 for it...check it out...they also can get it I believe on Lori's site.. It would be a nice style and color for you !!! I like it, but most of my wigs the hair is too dense. I just remembered what else was on my to-do list today that I forgot about...thinning shears...I wonder has anyone attempted to thin a wig themselves?? I always hesitate to have anyone "do" anything to them for fear of ruining them...wig hair won't "grow" back so no recovery on a bad hair cut. I know lots can be done, but also at a cost that I cannot afford with as many pieces as I have. Oh, I just googled it and found it, maybe they sell it online now...check it out..http://www.houseofbeautyworld.com/hemautwig.html
Ya know, I prefer no bangs as well, so hard to find in a wig...OK, so I know what yours is, and I guess I wonder if it truly looks natural at the hairline? The Margu I got ...I got it because the color was MY COLOR..but it seemingly has more hair than I would like, esp. in the front, bang area. I know the Amy's Presence look nice, but you do have to have no hair, also, you have to go to a salon she is associated with to have them fit, etc. I have some hair, and even if not, the nearest salon is not that close to make multiple trips. That is the easy thing about ordering wigs online...they come to your door!! I feel I am most comfortable trying on wigs at home, and when I go to a wig shop, I seem to see myself differently, and the sales people guide you, maybe in ways you don't wish to be guided. If you purchase, my experience is I come home abit dissappointed, and then of course, it is mine..no turning back!!
Sorry, just checking online..what color do you wear? Is it ash blonde? Or regular blonde? I see a place that has color 22 on sale for $148.40 which is the cheapest price yet online...http://www.thewigs.com/view_detail.asp?indx=5523 check it out...I thought Lori's would be cheap, but this one is lower....My concern is always color..it makes or breaks alot of the wigs I buy. I have had luck with Raquel's...they fit well, and the hair is not itchey...well, for me anyway...
Aimee, As I was just gonna say...hey, how much are you wanting for the wig that is too light? I read what you said previously...that it was not the most comfortable wig....can you explain why when you have the time? I am so over wigs that are scratchy inside, the hair is itchey and always seems to be on my face and neck...maybe you can get used to it, I don't know. That is why I usually "flip my wig" as soon as I can get it off my head. WIsh it wasn't that way. The picture of your wig online shows kinda bangs, but I guess you can comb them into the sides, and it says the hairline is very natural. What do you say about that? Thanks so much. Sorry you got a back Raquel, truly they fit nice, and that is one company that the hair does not itch and the inside fits and doesn't itch...but the colors ...no real blondes...ya know, like a barbie doll blonde..we all had one of those at some time, right ?? lol....take care
Thanks Aimee. Yes, I wish most of my wigs didn't have bangs at all, or at least the option and way to comb them into the rest of the hair..Trimming the bangs is never fun, whisps of fiber falling into my eyes..gotta love that, right? I know about the splurge factor. I would surely splurge if I had a guarantee about something, but that is just it, I don't. No guarantee it will fit right, fall right, be easy to wash and style, last x amount of months, years, what have you. Be cool and comfortable enough to want to wear it all or most of the time, and look REAL. All of that is a tall order. And of course be truly the "right" color for me. So I search in internet for wigs all of the time. Somewhere online I read where they are having a shortage of human hair ( I always wonder how they can find so many people to give up their hair) and synthetics will soon cost as much as human hair and look, feel, and react the same as HH. And how many years will it take, I ask?? Thanks, Aimee.
I bought my first wig at the online, Yaffa outlet http://www.yaffawigsoutlet.com/
I've been fairly happy with it. They all come in petite/normal/large sizes. Or for $50 (US) more you can get them made to measure. They also have an Ebay site.
I hope this is helpful.
I've been wearing the Gabor lace-front synthetic wig "Prodigy." It's comfortable and has a very realistic lace-front so you can brush it off the face (but lace is not ear-to-ear as in Revlon lace-fronts, so you don't need to tape it). It is not technically a "petite" and is more a "petite-average" size. But works for me. I also wear the Renau lace-fronts. Alia is a particularly beautiful, comfortable, and well-made wig for a reasonable price. I buy these when wigs.com or Wilshire Wigs offers offers 25%-30% off all stock, so they are very affordable, and I can have several styles and colors to choose depending on my mood/outfit.

I look at wigs as I do shoes. LOL
Lori...oh my...I have met my clone...lol...I have prodigy as well...and I pretty much like it..I also have looked at Alia, but I wonder if the picture for the wig is really what the wig looks like?? I mean, I really want to be able to wear it no bangs, off my face, just as the picture is...wigs never look like the picture !! Maybe it is just "my face" that doesn't look like the picture...again, lol. Namebrandwigs still has the best prices on wigs..http://www.namebrandwigs.com/pages/wigs_jonrenau_alia_5134.shtml and they offer 25% off their listed price as well. ..so do tell, can you really brush it really off your face and forehead as the girl with the brownish hair is doing? The one with the blonde has too much hair and it is not brushed back as much. Ok, since we have the same taste in two wigs...check out spicy by racquel welch..I have that one also, and it fits really well, not a lace front, but still, looks pretty realistic.
