I was seriously considering flying out to California to get a wig from wiggin out salon in Newport beach. I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews from them and lets face it if I have to wear a wig and I chose to wear one I'd like it to be the best quality. Has anyone ever used them or heard anything about them? Thanks alot. Since I'd be flying from Maryland to California it's kinda a huge decision for me.

I was doing research and kept coming across their name, it's a wig shop in CA that specializes in alopecia and cancer patients. They have wigs made out of 100% human hair from the USA that is not processed in anyway. They also make wigs out of your own hair if you still have hair. They have all kinds of caps but specialize in lace caps and custom fit them for the most natural look. I looked at their photo gallery of recent clients and was amazed. Also when you make an appt your the only person in there with 10 employees working with only you. Than they actually cut, highlight or style your wig right there. It's a 3rd generation family owned business, the only downfall is all 5 of their locations are in CA so it's a big decision. Also if they make a custom wig and you don't like it they'll fix as many times as needed for free. I'm always hearing about how everyone goes through all these horrible wig shops and wigs that don't last and after spending thousands of dollars they finally find that one great place, so I figured maybe I got lucky and can skip all that wasted money on bad wigs and go straight to that one great one...hopefully.
I also am from NYC and have a wonderful wig that I purchased here from Joseph Paris. It can be pricey however they are very willing to work with you
Hi Kelly, you might check out: http://www.wigsupport.com/forums/index.php They are an amazing group of women that are dealing with medical hair loss (some cancer too, but mostly alopecia) and have a lot of great info on anything and everything to do with wigs.
Do find out as much as can about the different types of wigs. I spent a fortune on my first wig, being hell bent to get the most realistic wig I could find and figured human hair was the way to go. Yikes! What a pain in the butt?! It was more work taking care of my human hair wig, than it ever had been with my bio hair. "Doing my Wig" in the morning for an hour or so was not something that started my day off on a happy note, just reminded me of what I lost....again.
For me, synthetics were the way to go. One quick brush out and plop it on your head, you're ready. If I had to wear a wig, it better make my life easier and synthetics definitely made it easier. Also, because I was spending far less on each wig, I really didn't care if I had to order a new one every couple of months. At that time, I was going thru about 4-5 wigs a year and still spending less that what I ever did with my bio hair on cuts and colors.

There are a ton of really great resources in the NYC area, seems like it may be a better place to start...unless you're looking to get some California sunshine later this winter....Newport Beach is beautiful for that!
I buy my daughter's wigs online from a chinese site. Message me and I will send it to you. They cost about $400. I spent a fortune on the first couple of custom wigs from a shop and these are much better. She tapes them on and wears them for about 3 days before changing. We buy a new wig every 2-3 months because she is hard on them.
It is really unusual to find a company that uses hair that was purchased in the US-and since you seem to be a blond I can understand why you are attracted to them. Getting European hair in blond is hard-I have bought a wig in New York, from a Brooklyn company, but I had to have more highlights added and I don't think you will get a "very" blond wig with natural human hair -it will be hair that was dark blond from Europe and then was lightened.

So-oo-o if light blond is for you and the money is not a huge issue, and you don't want hair from China that has been colored a light blond-I say go for it. and keep us posted.

But if you want to get a EHH wig, that has been colored blond, at a less expensive price, there are 2 or 3 by the company called Onrite/Gemtresse-Miss Delaware wears one-and I think on the lori's wigsite they are about $1200-$1400.
Thanks everyone for all the great advice! My husband and I decided to get plane tickets anyway. Aug.12 is our anniversary so we are gonna make a vacation out of it. I figured we would kill 2 birds with 1 stone, if I don't like this wig place than at least we'll have a great vacation and lord knows we need one lol! We're gonna be right near Hollywood so it should be fun! We leave on aug.19 and I'm so excited! I will let you guys know how it was as soon as I get back and thanks again, I don't know what I would do without your guidance and support. This is all so sudden sometimes it feels like I'm taking a crash course in wigs lol!
