Xeljanz 2 month update: My fiancé's progress

I just wanted to give everyone an update on my fiancé's progress while taking Xeljanz. My fiancé has had alopecia for the past 2 years. When she first started taking Xeljanz she had no eyebrows or eyelashes, and about 80% hair loss on her scalp. After taking 5 mgs twice a day for the past 2 months she has started to have regrowth on her eyelashes and eyebrows.
Please keep in mind they are not terminal hairs yet, but it is a huge start considering she had none. This is a great sign that she is responding to the medicine. Although she has not noticed any regrowth on her scalp as of now, the hair that she does have has not been fallen out since starting Xeljanz

We both continue to stay positive and optimistic.

I have followed everyones stories who have began Xeljanz and it inspired me. I am not someone who puts any drugs in my body, I wont even take Tylenol or Advil or Antibiotics anymore because of my bodies fragile immune system. I have been this way for nearly 3 years with the disease and as of yesterday, I popped my first Xeljanz tablet! I will update with results as they come. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories.

be good with update pics from people.. don't think xeljanz is approved in uk at the moment so I got to make do with

I now have a fabulous doctor (thanks gain to Guisep--whom I could never thank enough...  ) and a script for Xeljanz but I am getting push back from my insurance (Aetna)...

Any information or feedback on this issue (insurance push-back/ PA (prior auth) rejection, please please share your experience(s) (interventions that worked? and/or other tips...  Thanks

You are very welcome! I am glad I was able to help you. As far as insurance goes, my fiancé didn't have any trouble with her insurance other than having to get preauthorized before the pharmacy could fill it. Please let me know how you make out.

Here are some pictures of my fiancé Mary's regrowth so far. She had been on Xeljanz 3 months now. Please keep in mind in the first pic she is wearing mascara on her eyelashes. The other two pics are of left and right side of her head right above her ears. She has been responding to te medicine with no negative side effects.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. I am hoping for quick approval from the FDA so we can all get the meds without such huge insurance fights.

Amen - son is on it for two weeks - we have a coupon for 3 months - FDA needs to approve if it works

I was wondering how your fiance is doing? Has she had any regrowth in her hair? I just got approved for the Zeljanz 10 minutes ago. I am very excited. I will start taking it next week.
