Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial

I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here. 

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results. 

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

io vado in turchia a comprare xeljanz, costo circa 580 euro a scatola per 56 pillole,io ho appena iniziato speriamo bene, ciao

Ti risulta sia possibile acquistare il farmaco in Turchia on line o è necessario andare personalmente (o mandare qualcuno) ?

Posso chiederti la cortesia di indicarmi il nome della farmacia in Turchia presso la quale ti sei rifornito di Xeljanz. Effettivamente ho visto che un volo su Istanbul costa poco più di 200 euro e, volendo, in un giorno si va e si torna da Venezia. Ciao  lu391.  Ho trovato l'indirizzo a pag. 136 di questa conversazione. Fra l'altro è centrale e relativamente vicina all'aereoporto.  Immagino sia necessario ordinare prima Xeljanz. Hai l'indirizzo e-mail della farmacia per poterli contattare prima ? Grazie ancora per la condivisione.

cosa intendi con privatamente? senza nessuna prescrizione medica?

immagino tua figlia sia seguita da uno specialista. 

in tal senso hai mai chiesto se è possibile convertire il farmaco in forma di crema/lozione? in questo forum qualche pagina fa se ne parlava e negli USA lo stanno già facendo a quanto pare...noi sempre indietro :)

Intendevo personalmente - scusa. Sai se è possibile l'acquisto on line ?  

Da quanto ne so, la crema è stata usata solo in via sperimentale ma non esiste in commercio, neppure negli USA.

anche se fosse possibile ( deve essere una farmacia che spedisce all'estero ) penso ci possano essere problemi quando la merce arriva in dogana. Avevo letto qualcosa in merito che possono bloccarti e requisirti tutto se i farmaci non son approvati. Ora non ricordo più molto mi dispiace.

comunque negli usa da quel poco che ho capito se lo fanno fare come preparazione galenica.

Certo. Per cui è necessario andare in Turchia.

Preparazione galenica: interessante.  Il fatto è che negli USA i farmacisti sono veri farmacisti, ovvero preparano loro i farmaci e non li vendono solamente, come si fa qui in Italia   :(

oh sorry, i didnt read that in Italian, it seems it was 4850Eur in Croatia, way cheaper than in the US,
