I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

I decided to buy Xelijanz in Turkey it's cheaper, and no all those problems you made me, best regards.

Does anyone have information on the new xeljanz XR. 11mg 1 a day tablets?
Hope it's cheaper.
Sabri, read a page or two back, someone talked about that yesterday.
Hi All,
I'm seeing Dr King tomorrow morning. It's been three months since my last visit. I'm still taking 20mg Xeljanz everyday. I've been on the medication for almost 9 months now. In the last two weeks I've noticed hair growth in my brows and my lashes are starting to grow. I have about 70% scalp growth and my leg and arm hair has grown in. I still shave my head because when it grows it's to thin to go without a wig or hat. I added Saw Palmetto last month and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. It seems as if people try the most random treatments and sometimes they work and other times it does nothing, so it's hard to say what is causing this bit of growth in my brows and lashes.
Anyways, if there are any questions you want answered let me know and I'll ask Dr King tomorrow morning.
What was the severity of youre alopecia and how long was the length of time you had lost youre hair for. Also did you start on a lower dose then jump up to the 20 mgs a day
I was AU. I had not one hair on my body. I've became AU December 2015 ( I lost everything within 3 weeks). I started on 10mg of Xeljanz in July and went up to 20mg in September, which I've been on since.
I have to shave my legs every other day and my head hair looks like a buzz cut with random small thin areas that don't have much hair. My husband thinks I should grow it out to, but shaving it shows me exactly where the "spots" are. My right brow JUST started growing hair, not very neatly, but there's dark hair there. My bottom lashes are long enough for mascara but my top lashes just started growing and are very short.
It's been a very, very long waiting game.
You're case sounds very simialer to mine I went AU rapidly in March of 2015 I ended up shaveing my head and it never grew back previous to that I had a full thick head of hair lost all body hair Brows Eyelashes also I was recently diagnosed with RA that is how I obtained the Xelljanz I am takeing it along with Methotrexate once a week my dose of Celljanz is two 5 mgs a day I'm in my 6th week and have a lot of hair growth on face and inside my nose hopefully it will start showing up on my scalp soon good luck to you keep us updated sounds like you're on youre way to full regrowth
Sasele good luck .
yes it's a long process to see results with xeljanz
and it depends body to body . but I'm wondering why you jumb to 4 pills a day I think should be 3 pills if it's not work then you can use 4 pills but anyways I so glad to see your hair again . my update I'm on xeljanz 5 weeks and I'm just saw a 2 white hairs in my right eyelashes hope to show me xeljanz new hair .
thanks
I'm happy to hear you are seeing those little white hairs, that is the start. I went to 4 pills a day per the recommendation of Dr King. Every case is different. So I can't say with authority why 4 works or why 2 works. I'm incredibly healthy; running, hiking, gym, low body fat - I am also a female, 35 years old and live in Seattle. Not that any of that makes a difference, but maybe some of it does.
I have had zero side effects. Not a single one. No flu, cold, weight gain.. Nothing negative.
I understand how challenging this is, it has taken a toll on me in so many ways. But I will not give in or give up. Keep running your course.

do you put saw palmetto also in eyelashes?

Any sides effect in these 9 months?

did you have AU OR AT? And from how many time?

Thank you for you answeres, if you meet dott King can you ask him if any important side effect in the people and if a time the hairs all back what he want make, stop or continue the cure...Thank you very much.

I take Saw Palmetto orally. It's a really odd herb, specifically made for men. However, I thought to give it a try and since taking it I have seen more growth. Again, every circumstance is different. We are in the same story but different chapters.
I will ask Dr King those questions and get back to you when I get back home to Seattle.
