I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.
I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.
Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.
The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.
I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

is this the same medication?
The studies conducted demonstrated breakthrough therapy of tofacitinib for the treatment of an alopecia areata.
In 70% of cases, TOFACIB is able to restore hair in patients suffering from alopecia areata, the duration of therapy is 24 weeks and can be extended at your doctor’s discretion.
*You are kindly asked to assess your risks in advance and to realize the 30% of unsuccessful therapy. Please, do not start the therapy and do not purchase TOFACIB® if the percentage specified doesn’t suit you.
Looks like a hoax to me. They are based in Shanghai, China. They don't provide any info on any trials substantiating their claims. Moreover, JAK topicals failed to work here in US from what I've read. Not sure how they managed to get 70% response rate. Looks too good to be true.
I agree. I would never buy anything like that or any prescription from a company based in China. No offense to anyone in that part of the world. I work in nutrition (supplements) and the chinese companies in our industry are notorious for creating fake supplements, ingredients or substituting less effective but dangerous substances.
Hay I have question for those xeljanzs worked for. How did the treatment and hair growth progress? I think it has been 6 weeks and I have gotten mostly thin white hairs. I guess I want to know if it works does the hair change to normal. My facial hair is thicker and mixed between strong white hairs colored hair and thin shafted mildly colored hair. Possible eyebrows growth but I my just be being to optimistic. this sound familiar to anyone.
