Good thinking, Tamara. My cousin has Chron's disease...she's been disabled with it for about 15 years now, along with other "middle age female maladies", and the fewer steroids you put into your body, the better.

If you choose to go that way, there are really many nice wigs out there...high quality synthetic and human hair. And the best thing I ever did was to shave the hair all off, because I can tolerate looking at bald better than I can spotted.

Peace and Blessings to you.

Yes I was told I have Alopecia Areata. I had the shots 2 times, and decided against it. When I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease I was on 20+ pills a day, and I cant keep doing that to my body. I had a BAD time with steroids, and the shots hurt like hell the rest of the day. So Im just letting whatever happens...happen!

You could be correct Tamara, about the "immune disorder" thing. Have you seen a dermatologist?

I have 10+ bald spots all over my head, and my whole head is constantly itchy, tingly, burning to the point where I want to rip/shave it all off. Around the bald spots if I lightly tug on the hairs, they fall out super easily. Side note, I went to the dentist last week, my teeth were ALL fine :) But I do have Ezcema and Crohn's Disease, which are both also immune disorders, so I think my immune system is just all messed up :/

My hair stopped growing back fully after my son was born in 2005 and now what's there is mostly gray.

If the tooth thing is true then it means I've had a tooth infection for the last 10 years. In my case I believe stress had a lot to do with my alopecia going after my scalp. I had lost most of the hair on my legs below the knee years earlier but never thought anything of it. At the time it took hold of my scalp I was under an enourmous amount of stress at work, I worked overnights, and I was only getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep a day. I was also taking Stacker 2 to help me stay awake at work. My hair would always grow back but it always seemed to fall out again when I was under some kind of stress.

I don't think it's the tooth at all. We Alopecians don't lose hair because of stress, losing hair ITSELF causes the stress and accellerates the loss. Is it itchy, burning or tingling where the patches are? Are the hairs shaped lime exclamation points? (meaning thinner at the root end). If so, you might have Alopecia.

Has anyone heard of a hidden tooth infection to cause patchy hair loss ? My doctor said that stress wasthe culprit ,but it's still not growing back after the injections I was given . I don't now why this is happening to me .

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has had Yellow Fever when thy were babies? I was told by my mother before she passed that having the fever caused my hair to fall out in my later years. You can find out on webmd like I did. So if anyone checks on there please let me know. This website has info saying some of the causes could be having this Yellow Fever which I did. Will be waiting to hear from anyone.
