What is the Registry ???
Comment by kastababy on July 16, 2010 at 12:20am
@ Patrick Moore: I signed up for the registry about 8 years ago and I couldn't be more pleased that I've done so -- I had the bloodwork drawn and everything, and thanks to the efforts of myself and the thousands already on the registry real breakthroughs in research are being done! The current research offers new insight into the mechanisms of how alopecia progresses, and with the genetic markers identified we are one step closer to a cure -- so please, PLEASE not only get yourself on the registry, but also put as many of your family members on the registry as you can!!

Yes, I have notice alopecia is connected with fatigue.

One more question- has anyone noticed if alopecia is connected with fatigue? Ive noticed myself being really tired around the same time this started showing up.

Cool. I haven't paid a lot of attention to my spots since they're all on back or side if my head, so I'm just planning for when the day comes.
Thanks, Yvette!

Hi Dave. I shaved my head when I couldn't cover the spots with my pirate's cap any longer. When I finally shaved, I found I had far less hair on my head than I ever imagined. For me as a woman, It felt sooooo good to look clean and not super sick with patches all over. Besides, I had a date at the wig shop the following day and I found a great wig that I still love and it's been a year now.

Well, here I' am again. With having Alopecia and Arthritis. It's something else. Should I go see a dr to find out if I have Arthritis or no. I have Medicare and Medicade. Who else would like to be my friend? So I can't regrow my long hair I had when I started losing it in 1975. I'm glad I can chat with people that have what I do or not. I live in Glen Burnie, MD. Goodnight friends.

I was wondering at what point people shave their heads, my hair is thinning and still getting white patches in various places, which is beginning to fall out. The front doesn't look bad, tho. (see my pics if you like)

Hi, Just got home from work. My hands hurt so bad cause I lift boxes and I've been doing this for over 4 years now. I'd like to find a job that I can do at a desk or not lifting boxes again. 4 years of doing this make me wonder if that would give me arthritis. Glad to have friends that have the same thing as me. How is everyone doing? be back on later.

I just registered for Tier 1 and received an email today inviting me to participate in Tier 2...so I am going to do it! Why not..maybe we can be part of the cure!
