Hi All,

My name is Jessica and I have had Patchy AA for about two years now. My hair did grow back and was great for a few months and now is not it's way out again. Oh what a rollercoaster glad to be here.

Hi!
Eight years ago I started with AA. It took 2 years for it to fall out. A year later it turned into AU. Now I have one full eyebrow, half of the other one, my eyelashes and now a lot of hair on my head. I have quite a few bald patches, so I can't go without a wig. Now I have no choice but to wear a wig because it looks really weird and people would think I was sick.
I' afraid to shave it off, in case it's cocing back. What do you think?

Hi,

I have Alopecia Areata and lost 60% of my hair before I shaved it all off in December 2007. My consultant found in January 2008 that I had an under active thyroid and so put me on thyroxin tablets. Since then my hair has re grown but I like to keep it very short or shaved. Who knows what will happen next!!!!!!

hi kaiana, how are you today? jax your hair was white and then turned color again? that is wild. mine is completely white and baby fine and my scalp is pick so it is very strange looking. it is growing back but there are so many spots that it is not yet so i really do look like im going through chemo. i wonder if mine will turn back or stay white - is there anyway to tell?

hi there, i am jennifer and very new to this. i can't even express the amount of anxiety that i feel. i am not dealing with this at all. i have gone through a divorce and my job is re-locating and i am just not doing well. i am really depressed. also i got a wig to go on a job interview and have no idea how to make it more comfortable or even take care of it. i feel completely lost and alone. no one i know has this or has even heard of it. that pic is of me in april and that is my hair and now it is all gone and completely white.
