WOW! When I was diagnosed with AU 4 years ago and did some research on the disease, I read that it was the most rare for of Alopecia and that only 2% of Alopecians has Universalis. Now looking at all of you lovely folks in here, I'm seeing that that is probably a false statement and although I'm sorry you have to go through this as well, I'm happy to know I'm not one of the only people going through total hairloss. Each and every one of you ROCK!

My tattooed eyebrows lasted 2 years before having to redo them. The eyeliner doesn't seem to last for me, the inner eyeliner keeps disappearing, so I have to fill in with matching eyeliner. Strongly recommend doing the eyebrows, once done you don't have to worry about them other than a little fill-in with pencil if you want to make them darker.

Choose carefully! I have an artis in SF that is awesome! It might be worth the trip down!

Thank you all for your input, I definitely would like to try the tattooing now. I was skeptical but it sounds like the best option as long as I find the right artist.

the problem is the ink of the regular tatoo, the color may change and not always looks as good. I do the injectios, but the tattoo was worst for me, I´m a big wuss

I've had my eyebrows and eyelids tattood for over 3 years now. Totally worth the pain and the money. I require touch ups on the brows every now and again but have never had to have the eyelids redone.
Just as an FYI the brows are hairstroke technique and the lower lids are small dots to simulate lashes.

eyebrows done, LOVE IT!!!!!! did eyeliner once, never again, I will just keep using liquid eyeliner, even though I don't like it. tattooing has to be re-done about every couple years, due to they fade a lot over time, I wish it would last like a regular tattoo. oh well, the price we pay! :-)

I also love my tatooed brows and upper liner. The brows were not too bad, the liner was no fun, I do not know if I will to liner again if it fades, the brows I will keep up. AU for 18 months now. The permanent make up helps alot. I also switched from traditional cap wigs to lace wigs three months ago and while a larger learning curve the comfort and realistic appearance have been well worth it.

I love my tattooed eyebrows also. I went to a couple different consultations before I found the person that I trusted and liked their work. It was so worth it and he did such a wonderful job!

I also love my tattooed eyebrows, which were done as permanent make up. There are almost 2 years old now and Im thinking maybe a touchup is needed, but nothing a pencil doesnt take care of right now if I feel the need. If you ever did injection treatments to the scalp then the eyebrows are really no problem. I always felt that the cortisone injections were always worse in the pain department.
