Hello everyone :)

I arrived in Perth from Wellington, NZ, late September 2011. Now that I've settled in a little, I'd love to meet other people who have Alopecia and are based in Perth. Are there any upcoming events, or coffee catch ups?

Cheers :)

Yesterday we received our cheque from the CBA Staff Community Grant for the establishment of the Wigs For Kids initiative, more details can be found on our web site on how this program operates. I was so excited that they choose our cause from thousands of applciations. This grant is from Staff donations contributed from thier salary each pay. They raise 1 Million a year- the 2nd largest community giving in the world.

Colonial First State Charity Promotion
From 21 November till 7 December 2011 you can nominate AAAF. We could win $5,000 donation from Colonial First State. Plus you could win $500.
SO, HOW DO YOU ENTER?
Visit 2UE if you are in Sydney, 3AW if you are in Melbourne or 4BH if you are in Brisbane.
Simply fill out the online ballot on the following sites
www.2ue.com.au/comp-cfs
www.3aw.com.au/comp-cfs
www.4bh.com.au/comp-cfs

It would be great to get some more funding to be able to do better things to support people with all forms of Alopecia Areata, Totalis or Universalis, such as our Wigs for kids programme and perhaps a new initiative!!

Vote for us!

Western Australia - Michelle who has been the phone contact for 5 years is now moving to Darwin in January and will not be able to offer this service for 18 months.

Michelle has been the first contact point for those in W.A. providing information and direction of services available to Alopecia Sufferers.

If you would be interested in taking over this role, please supply your email to info@aaaf.org.au to further discuss becoming involved as a support person to Alopecia Areata sufferers in WA or representing AAAF in your state.

We are also seeking interest of people in NT / TAS as well in regards to becoming a support contact or rep. Its not hard work and if you are passionate in helping those with Alopecia Areata please contact us on the above email.
