The Alopecia Areata Support Association of Victoria holds regular meetings, which are support sessions for sufferers of Alopecia and their supporters. Participants benefit greatly by talking about common problems, exchanging ideas and generally supporting one another in coping with day to day difficulties of living with alopecia. Parents of children with Alopecia also gain support through discussion with other parents.

AASA next meeting is at 2.00pm on Saturday 28th May, at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, 80 Drummond Street, Carlton. Anyone who has Alopecia Areata or is a supporter of someone with Alopecia is welcome to attend.

VIC - Activity Information Day was organised by Angel Wigs on Sunday, where there was attendance ofmore than 50 people.

There were a few sessions on how to put your "eyebrows & eyelashes" on, makeup tips and of course a question & answer session for all which was the most beneficial.

We received such positive feedback from all and met some great new friends! Quite a few new faces that didn't know about AAAF and the work we are doing which was a bonus as we are reaching out to more people!

Let us know if you wish to organise something in your state - especially if you think you can help with tips for other people with Alopecia. Contact us on info@aaaf.org.au and we will put you in touch with a support person in your state.

Would love to see people adding their "tips & tricks" in this forum as well & ask questions from others in this group.....

Alopecia Areata and hypnosis - I have a journalist who is writing an article on Alopecia and the beneficial elements of hypnosis on the psyche. The journalist is wanting to talk to anyone who has tried hypnosis - please contact Chel@aaaf.org.au if your interested in telling your story.
