Hi Everyone,

There have been several updates of recent time and if you are not registered on our web site of facebook you might have missed these. These include the summary paper and thesis on our youth study completed in 2013. Many of the AW audience participated, so please check the results out. The purpose of this study was to identify how those from 13 -21 utilized coping strategies to facilitate daily functioning. An important aspect of the study was to identify the psychological and social impacts of Alopecia Areata. Additional research is being conducted by PHD student Dr Jane Li and AAAF is investing again in research for adult women in 2013. AAAF also ahs a NSW branch manger Leeann, feel free to contact her at lee@aaaf.org.au
Also check out our events we have a family day coming up in S.A on Sunday 17th Feb. Chel

Hi Everyone,
"The project" TV show will be airing a story on Alopecia Areata and we have had several people involved in this. It's been a big morning in the Wilcox family. Channel ten producer and a camera man here doing an interview with Jesse. Jesse hopes it will help give other people with alopecia more confidence. Scheduled to be shown on air January 30th. Don't miss it!!

Hi Ladies! AAAF would love if you could help with completing our survey on the attached link. Note all the answers are anonymous!!

Your thoughts and experiences would greatly assist us to start our next information brochure for Ladies. We hope to help Ladies starting their alopecia journey by answering some of those questions we all had when we started our journey!

Well what a great day we had at the AAAF Family event today in Melbourne!

We had new supporters connecting with AAAF & making new friends that share a common bond, without knowing each other! I met some fantastic new people today, and was delighted to see our regular supporters without their "hair" today, some for the very first time in public. I was immensely proud of you all!

Thank you to
all of our speakers and stall holders, including our supporters who shared their own personal alopecia journey & experiences! I am sure their experiences left all of those in attendance with a tear in our eye, inspired us and even made us smile!!

Once again, we'd like to thank you the supporters, as these types of days would not happen without you!

From all the AAAF Commitee

Hi NSW - If your child is between 5-8 and is interested in being in a movie please contact chel@aaaf.org.au.

Our AAAF president has been contacted by a casting director for FELONY an Australian Feature Film, being produced by Goalpost Pictures (The Sapphires), written by and starring Joel Edgerton. Filming in Sydney in December this year, and they are looking to cast a boy or girl, anywhere between 5 and 8 years old, who has no head hair, to play a young cancer sufferer in hospital with his/her mother. (paid position too!!)
