For 18+ QLD Females please read on:
One of our supporters in Qld (Sarah)as part of her PhD research is writing a play about the female experience of living with Alopecia. She would love to interview other women to hear their stories and help build awareness on the trials and triumphs of living with Alopecia. The more stories we share the greater the understanding within the wider community. If you would be interested in being involved in this project please contact Sarah on
myalopeciastory@gmail.com
and she will get in touch with more information and details.

Victorian Melbourne & Country Supporters
On the 4th of May Adam Farrell is holding a fundraiser for Alopecia and will be doing 1000...yes 1000!! Bench press Reps to raise money and awareness at Dohertys Gym - 15 Garsed Street, Bendigo.

Adam's words as follows:
I am doing this for my beautiful girlfriend who has alopecia areata, and having seen her go through it I have some idea of how hard it is for people with this condition to cope with the physical and emotional repercussions. This autoimmune disease has no cure.

I want to raise awareness and funds, all of which will be donated to the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation, to try to make life a bit easier for people with this.

Some examples of initiatives that your valuable money could go towards include:
$5 can go towards providing class room discussions at schools

$25 can go towards educating someone just diagnosed about this disease and linking them to a community network

$50 can provide personal resources to help a child educate a potential bully

$100 can assist with providing the funds to help purchase that perfect hair

$500 can help in allowing a researcher to go one step further towards looking for the missing link

So please come along on the day (we will also be running a bbq), or you can donate online via this link

AAAF will be car pooling from Melbourne if you wish to attend to see this Mammoth effort and have a great day out! If you are interested email us at info@aaaf.org.au and make it a fun day out!!

Hi Everyone,
AAAF have the opportunity to provide funding for a major exciting research & to do this we need to raise $8000! We need support in various forms starting with this year's events!

To assist us in raising funds for this research we are planning quite a few major events for this year! Some of these are:
- Trivia Night in May
- November Awareness Week activities - Golf Day, Open Day and a "movie night"

Most of these events will be in Victoria but we will be planning events in other states and are welcoming suggestions from our supporters in the rest of Australia!

Bussiness Owners:
Have you considered sponsoring AAAF (its tax deductible!)? Could you provide vouchers for services/products to add to our pool of items for prizes for our events? Contact us for your ideas & thoughts.

Supporters:
Do you have any unwanted gifts that are still packaged and would like to donate them to us??
No items are too small, big, unwanted or weird - we can arrange pickup/shipment - contact us!!

AAAF are purely volunteer based who mostly work fulltime in other jobs and we source donations in our spare time which is a big job, so this year we thought we would try a donation drive through our supporters!!

If you have any new ideas on how to source donations please make contact with us via email on info@aaaf.org.au

We love to hear about creative new ideas and your thoughts on what you would like to see happen this year in regards to events!!
Looking forward to a great year with lots of things happening for AAAF!
Thanks again for all your support :)
