Hi everyone,

I'm trying to organize an event for National Bald Out Day, July 19, in San Diego. What I'm working on is simply an outdoor table at the biggest mall in town - Fashion Valley. The goal (see National Bald Out group and my video for more info) is simply to raise public awareness and encourage women with hair loss due to alopecia areata to go out in public bald - even just for one day.)

If there is anyone in the San Diego area, or within driving distance, who would like to participate, PLEASE let me know.

Welcome, Cookie! I was a college student in Texas many years ago (UT-Austin), and never felt like or wanted to be called a "Texan". (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Glad to have you in the group.

AW member Carol Solis went to the taping of Ellen in LA yesterday, and sat in the audience bald. Yeah, Carol! It's going to air today.

Are there any women out there who live close enough to LA who would be interested in attending an Ellen taping together bald?

It would be pretty hard to ignore even a small group of bald women sitting together - maybe we could get some on-air time to mention alopecia and The National Bald Out July 19 - especially if we wore our National Bald Out T-shirts!
