Ktownnana, you are so right! When we consider all we COULD be dealing with, it helps keep our hair loss in perspective. It appears the paper dropped the article already, I should have posted the link sooner. If I can somehow get it up on my web site, I'll post it here. Let's all try to remember the world is watching how we as Christians are dealing with the crisis in our lives...let's lean on the Lord and let him take our burdens! He wants to! Keep praying...

Sherry, unfortunately I wasn't able to bring up your article. Would have loved to have read it. And yes, praise God that we are more than our hair. God is good. I know I have hair loss, but that is really minor to some of the losses that I could have had. I could have lost my job when I was working, or lost my house, or my health and I could go on and on. When I think about great losses, hair loss seems so trivial. Thank you God for your many blessings.

Praise God that we are more than our hair...man looks on the appearance but the Lord looks upon the heart. My local paper did an article on alopecia areata and my story. Here's the link if you'd like to read it...I don't think it's going to be there much longer.

I agree with Ann Wilson; Kimberly says it all. God bless each of you and I thank God for this website that has helped me personally to be more open about Alopecia. I am so thankful that I serve a merciful God who is faithful and just to forgive me for my sins and I long to see all my loved ones in heaven one day.

humm, religion really doesn't matter, there are many religions, none of which will get you to Heaven.... it's a relationship with Jesus Christ that does. Knowing that God sent His Son to this earth - died on a cross for our sins. that if we believe in Him, we too will be with Him one day in Heaven. I have had alopecia for 30 years now and the last 15 with AU. I have come to terms with it, hair or no hair I know within my heart that God loves me and I am really ok - He has helped me accept this - I am blessed - it could always be so much worse - Christian or not, none of us are exempt from bad things/sickness from happening to us - it's how we react to it, our attitude and how people see us live our lives, what influence we may have on another human. You NEVER know who is watching you, your life, and who you may touch. Make the best of a bad situation, have a positive attitude, life is short, live it to the fullest with God up front and center, you can't go wrong. :-) God bless each one reading this.

I was Baptised when I was a baby, and then kind of fell away from religion. I especially didn't care for it when my Alopecia started. Then some converts (I don't even remember which religion they were from) came to my door one day and we talked on my front porch for over 2 hours. They prayed with me for my hair to come. That started my mind back into religion. Then I met my boyfriend, Jo, a few months later and he was born and raised Catholic. After almost a year and a half with him, I joined the RCIA this weekend. I didn't just do it for him, I've always felt like there was something missing from my life and my heart. My hair is back now and I haven't lost a spot from my head in over a year (knocks on wood) but I still stay hear on AW because Alopecia was my life and all I thought about for so long. Jo and Catholicism may partially take some of that place, but Alopecia will always be there in my heart. Right next to God and Jo :)
