I've decided to not let my hair piece and the shame of my hair loss affect me and my self esteem. In a few weeks I will be going to church and leading praise and worship, and leaving my wig behind. I feel that I have given the enemy to much power when it comes to my hair loss, and I want to take it back. At the same time I want to put my faith into action, because I believe that God is not finished with me yet...Please pray for me, I suffer from Androgenetic Alopecia, and I am hiding it well, and soon I will be letting my secret out.

God delivered me. I lost it in service after exposing my head for the first time while singing on the choir. We sang Richard Smallwood's song "Trust" and believe me it ministered to my heart and soul as I ministered to saints in the santuary. I feel free, thankful and grateful that God directed me to the website of Ms. Sandra Dupose. I am saved, my husband and my family and have received much support & encouragement from my church family and friends.

I just told my boyfriend, a mature Christian man, of several months that I have alopecia universalis. He couldn't have been more understanding and caring. Among other things he told me how blessed I was that it wasn't something worse and that I didn't have to deal with hair and all its ramifications such as turning gray. I always wear a wig and he had suspected that I did even before we started dating. He said my beautiful "hair" is one of the things that attracted him to me. It always looks so neat, etc. It certainly looks better than my own hair did. I would love to be normal again (I've had alopecia for 16 years) but he asked me, "Who and what is normal anyway?" I hope this will encourage someone today. Give your situation and feelings to the Lord. He will bless you in ways you don't expect! Live in joyful expectation of what He will do in your life every day!

im only 12 so this might b normal but id still like advise....some days i go home after having a wonderful time, but then i just recap on all the bad in my life aswell and i feel like i've lost all hope. my mom always tells me that im brave about my alopecia, but somewhere inside i dont feel brave. i feel like im treated so differantly than the other kids at school so i just recently switched to homeschool. im not sure if God thinks im giving up on him or if he wanted me to switch. PLEASE help! =(
