I miss so much tying my hair up. I used to do really cool things like pig tails and braids and just tying it up in a twisty spikey kind of way!! I get sad to think I will no be able to do it any more. I just have the same hair style -everyday!!

Hey I am a postdoctoral researcher. I guess I am not a student but I work on campus and I am doing research so its not a REAL job/kind of semi-student - right!!!

I miss my curls. Terribly so. Although I must admit that being hairless (almost) is great. I don't have to wake up early to style my hair, don't spend a fortune on hair products or at the salon... and if it rains, it's windy, or whatever... my "hair" still looks great!

So i'm considering getting a wig, and i'm nervous people at school and my other friends will look at my funny and judge me. I see that Fitzy has a wig .. how do you like .. does it make you feel more comfortable around other?? Does anyone else have any feelings about it, i just want a perspective from people who understand and arent my parents

OMG it feels so good to know I am not the only college student in the world with Alopecia. Well I knew I wasnt but I have never met anyone else with it....let alone my own age!

I used to miss ponytails, but have recently discovered (with my vacuum wig) that if you get the hair dresser to cut little whispy bits around the hair line it creates the look of baby hair. It also covers up that harsh line! Now I can even wear my ponytail really high.

I'm what you call a permanent student -- since I don't plan on having children, I have to have some means of getting all my taxes back every year right??? LOL

Seriously, the style that I miss the most since I don't have any hair is a ponytail!! Simple, easy, no maintenance -- and versatile too!!

I have AU so hair is like a tough topic for me cause I really dont have any. But the hairstyle that I want is micros, kinky twist or dreads.

I so understand. I use to love styling my hair in different ways.
I will be starting my LPN classes this fall and I know no one. Should be interested on the first day of clinicals when I show up in a bandanna. I just have to be prepared for the questions and stares.
