Hi,

I'm new to this group and thought I was posting a message on this forum, however I believe that I accidentally sent an email to the group instead, yikes!!

I was diagnosed with FFA about 2 weeks ago. Since then I've done a lot of reading about this disease and learned it's becoming an epidemic..... I read about a treatment that sounded very promising. It's excimer laser and has been shown to stop or dramatically reduce inflammation on the scalp. In one study of 13 FFA patients, all of them responded to this treatment.  It's used on a regular basis for FFA treatment at the University of Miami. Has anyone tried it before?

Thanks for posting this. I had the same question.
  1. Nancy, I live in CO too! Do you mind if I send you a private message? I would like to know who you are treating with. I like my Derm. She is seeing a lot of FFA patients. Maybe we can help each other out in this process........:))

Yes, please message me!  I just friended you so you should be able to send it.

Agneta,

I've attached the FAA Miami study with some information on the laser. It's primarily used to treat psoriasis, so your Derm may not be familiar with it unless he has one, or treats psoriasis.
