Hi everyone...I just posted from photos from my recent dive trip to Indonesia, and one of them shows how well permanent eyeliner holds up underwater - thought you might like to see:

I totally forgot to mention this earlier. If you shop at Sephora, they are in the middle of their Friends & Family event. Enter the code "FF2010" during online checkout and receive 20% off your order. It expires Wednesday, 11/3/10.

Because I am feeling really down about my hair still shedding and I will turning 40 next month, I would like to do somethings that will make me feel better about myself. Maybe new make up? skin treatment? I dunno.....any suggestions?I've also tried false lashes (eventhough I have mine), to enhance my eyes and can't keep them on???

I have got crazy oily skin, and I agree that using witch hazel on the scalp throughout the day will help out. I've tried at least six different mattifying lotions, and the one I use daily is PurMinerals Under Control Oil Regulating Gel (purchased mine at Ulta). It may seem spendy, but there is hardly a dent in it after 2 months because you only need a little dab for a large area.

My newest favorite eyeliner is Tokidoki (through Sephora) - again, it seems a bit spendy, but then so is trying six different eyeliners to get what you need. This pen is unique: the tip is more like a drawing marker, not a soft brush, so you don't need to practice over and over again to get the line where you want it to be. It also has killer staying power; it lasts through my 14-hour days without a smudge.

I am also a fan of the Anastasia eyebrow pen. I hope that this is never discontinued.

If anyone is interested in having a little fun with their makeup, check out www.aromaleigh.com - you can buy samples of most of the colors offered, and this woman sells a tiny little bottle of sealer for only $4. It's great for keeping eyeliner and eyebrow makeup on. I also like to put a dot of it at the end of a stiff slanted brush and then dip that into a color to use as a liner. That little bottle lasts me about 3-4 months at a time - bargain!

Eyeliner hints for those with no eyelashes. First I draw a soft line on upper and lower lid with Revlon Colorstay. I like a cat's eye look, so I add the cat's eye extention line right over the pencil line with Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner. Lasts all day and into the night. Must be removed with an oil-based makeup remover.

Synthetic wigs normally last three months, if they are chin and shorter. If the fiber dusts your shoulders, it creates friction wear (the frayed edges) and this length will look nice for two months or so. The longer the fiber, the shorter the wearing time. The more you brush, comb, play with or finger (nervous habits) the fiber, the less time the wig will last. I always suggest my clients who want a longer style to use one of the following for longer wear; an Elura synthetic fiber (hard to find), a 50/50 wig (50% synthetic and 50% human hair) and the best and longest lasting choice would be a human hair wig. Human hair wigs are available in the $400.00 and up range. The longer the hair the more expensive. The price is also based on type of human hair that is used. So do your research, talk to your friends and especially your alopecia friends. No one can give you a better recommendation on a wig than the people that wear them. One last note, be careful when buying a human hair wig IF you have light gray hair. Most gray wigs are made with synthetic fibers because the color does not turn yellow. Growth human hair that is naturally light gray will turn yellow within weeks of harvest.

What kind of wigs do you have? synthetic or real hair? Mine are European hair and last for a few years before the netting starts to wear out.

Can anyone tell me what the life expectancy is of a wig? The website I purchased my wigs from told me that wigs last for about 3 months. How often do you guys change your wigs? I find that my wigs seem to last about 3 months and then it loses it's luster. Can anyone give me any helpful tips to have my wig last longer, aside from washing my wig once a week? I love my wig till it loses it's luster. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I lost the lashes on my upper left eye a couple of years back and they are now in the process of growing back in. To give myself a natural looking lash line or cat eyes I use Urban Decay matte eyeshadow in Perversion (jet black) with a powder liner brush or brow brush for a thicker line. Then I seal it with She Laq by Benefit and it stays put all day, no smearing or creasing. I also seal my brow powder with She Laq and it doesn't budge in the heat or when I sleep at night with my brows on (usually when staying at a friends place or cottage and I don't want to get up and go down for breakfast without my brows ;)

Aimee, I swear by Urban Decay eyeliners - they go on smooth and man, do they stay put. They're called 24/7 something or other and it's true. I still have most of my eyelashes but am pretty confident that if/when they go, I'll just slap on the UD and be good to go. I have so many different colours and wear one or more every day.

Except in my profile picture, I confess, which was taken after the MAC staff got their mitts on me the other day.
