Welcome to the My Follea group.  This group was set up as a service to anyone with questions about hair replacement in general.  Collectively the Follea Consulting team has over 100 years of wearing, selling and styling experience.  We are here as a resource to answer questions regarding current or new hair pieces.

My name is Peggy Knight and I have had Alopecia Areata most of my life.  I have been in the business of hair replacement for over 35 years.  I started wearing synthetic wigs when they were they were the only solution.  I wore the vacuum type hair pieces for over 28 years and now wear the Gripper type hairpiece.

Please feel free to blog and ask questions.  We will do our best to answer them or refer you to another source for information.

Thank you for joining the My Follea group.

Peggy

Yes, I agree Lesley. When I was looking for hair at wig shops I was very uncomfortable and felt intimidated. I felt the wig shop did not understand my hair loss journey,  the thousands of tears I shed over my hair loss,  the countless hours of searching for good hair and a hair piece that would live up to my active lifestyle.  The wig shop just plopped a piece on my head and told me it would do and that I looked good. Hah, that was not  good enough for me..

Working with an expert from Follea/Daniel Alain team in the privacy of my home was invaluable. I am so thankful.  No more wig shop shopping for me.

What makes the Follea Gripper wig standout?

If you are you a woman living with alopecia you should not settle for a one-size-fits-all hairpiece.  It’s important to choose one that is specially designed for women with no hair, such as the Follea Gripper. All of Follea/Daniel Alain’s pieces are made with the Exclusive European human hair with the hair cuticle partially intact. Each piece is hand-tied with a natural-skin top and an extended lace front positioned from temple to temple to give it a natural front hair line.  The perimeter of the Gripper has a medical-grade silicone placed around the edges of the cap, allowing the scalp to breath and providing a secure fit. The pieces have a double-lined back for durability and longevity.

The Gripper comes in two models — the Gripper LITE for casual daily wear and the Gripper ACTIF for active individuals and children. The ACTIF model accommodates active lifestyles through 13 additional silicone panels in the lower back of the head and cap.

All of Follea’s piece come in 13 TruLifeTM colors making it easy to find a Gripper wig to match your natural hair color.

The pieces can be purchased in any size — Follea Gripper wigs come stocked in extra-small, small, and medium sizes. Large and children’s small sizes can also be factory ordered.

They can be styled just like your own hair — The Follea Gripper can be styled any way you like.  They can be curled, flat-ironed, or permed.  I’ve worn mine in a variety of different ways- in a bun, ponytail, curled, etc.  Those who do not know me have no idea I am even wearing a wig.

I wanted to share with you why work with a Hair Loss Consultant vs. buying a wig at the Salon

As an alopecia sufferer, I know all too well how difficult it can be to find a hairpiece that fits your head comfortably and won’t fall off yet still looks natural and stylish. Growing up, I tried many different hairpieces, but none of them were quite right for me. Then I found Follea/Daniel Alain. A knowledgable hair loss consultant from the company sized my head and helped me find a hairpiece that fit perfectly and could endure my active lifestyle. Furthermore, this experience showed me that having the assistance of a qualified hair loss consultant makes all the difference when it comes to choosing your ideal hair loss solution.

I love my Follea Gripper!
