Annette, My son was diagnosed with Alopecia June of 09'. I think from the time his hair started to fall out til it was gone was only about 3-4 weeks. It was way too fast! He did loose his eyebrows/eyelashes shortly after he lost the hair on his head. Hopefully this will be some help. I looked at your page and I can't even imagine what your going through having a second child going through this. Stay strong...

Hi Annette, my daughter started losing hair March 09 and by Sept. 09 30% of her hair was gone. Then we found something that helped her and now 5 months later 90% of the hair is back.
what did you find?
Hallo, Yes, I'll like to know what did you find, that helps to trick the immune system?
Please let me know, my dauther have AA since she is 8-9 month old and she is now 4 years old, thanks, Sabine

hi again i do not have a child with aa but . i as a child lost all my hair it was shoulder length it all fell out in 2 weeks to a month ! and have had no re growth since then your children are so so sweet!
Hi Annette, I have a three year old with AA. Around Christmas time of 2007 I noticed that his hair seemed to be more sparse than before (he was born with no hair but had what I would consider a normal amount for a one year old by the time he was a year). Within about a week of first noticing it seemed thinner, it had all fallen out, including his eyebrows and lashes. His brows and lashes have since come back in (although the brows seem to do this continuous cycle of re-growing and then falling out again) but the hair on his head has not returned. Hugs and prayers to you and your family!
Hi Annette, My son who is 3 started with his 1st spot in october 09 to now he has lost im gonna say almost 3/4s of it. We shaved his head almost 3 weeks ago because his hair was so thin and I wanted to be able to save his ponytail. His hair was past his shoulders. Now the hair that is left in at the back of his head mostly in the center. And it seems to be taking its time in falling out. I sure wish it would fall faster now since he does show some sings of regrowth and i want it to grow back together. I know some children whom lose it rapidly so Im thankful we didnt lose it at the rate. This time frame was way to rapid for us to even accept. But he did start losing it really fast in the begining, and then it did slow down. to this date he has no signs of losing his eyebrows or lashes. Im just hopeing and praying that he doesnt. I hope this helps you, and good luck on your journey :) im so thankful for the support and ability to freely ask questions without feeling like im overdramatic! LOL! (He is currently on an topical steriod plan)
My son who is now 7, lost his hair from November to February, ( 08/09 ), so about 4 months. I lost my hair also in the same period and the same months ( 25 years ago ).
I am wondering if there is a correlation with others, if their kids also lost their hair in winter?
