ooooh that sounds fantastic! hoboken is really close too! i am in. Friday nights are good for me! :)I can make or bring something to enjoy!

I live in Hoboken where there are PLENTY of bars and coffee shops. I also have a decent size apartment and love to entertain. If enough people are interested in getting together, we can have it at my apartment to start and perhaps head to one of the many bars in walking distance to let loose after? Weekends are tough for me but any evening during the week is fine. Let me know your thoughts.

i have not seen anything posted for new jersey, but would looooove to get something together like our own bagel brunch, or a gala or something like a meet and greet at a cofee shop.Just anything that will get me out of the house and talking to others!

I get sick of that comment...it sometimes sounds like a fishing expedition or they are trying to put me on the spot. Fortunately, I do get my haircut at a hairdresser so oftentimes, I can answer truthfully. Depending on what mood I am in I, might also ask,"why do you ask?" Just because someone asks a question doesn't mean I have to answer. If they say something (usually sort of flustered) like, "your hair looks really good," I'll reply, "Thanks"
with a look that indicates the conversation is done. Another strategy is to get people talking about themselves...which most people LOVE to do. I'll ask, "where do you get your hair done? Do you like your stylist?" Most of the time they are off and running and I am off the hook!
I have been dealing with alopecia most of my life (35 years) and have come to accept that people are curious..some want to reassure that I don't have cancer, some are just curious and some are just rude. That's their problem, Not OURS! Good luck,
