Sisterhood of Women who Shaved their Heads

This group is for women who have taken the bull by the horns and decided to shave their heads. It is also for those that aspire to someday shave their head. Hopefully we can provide support, guidance and compassion to one another.

I am truly a member of the group now - I did it!! Funny thing is now I have to re-read all the posts because NOW I understand what you are all talking about (stubble, velcro, advice on shaving). The learning process never ends..

That is funny, Machel! When my eyebrows came back partially last year, people got all excited that my hair was coming back! I had to laugh then, too.

I thought this was so funny. I haven't shaved my head this week and this morning at work, one of the guy who work with me sow me for the first time this week and was so excited when he said this " YOUR HAIR IS GROWING BACK!"
I just had to laugh. He couldn't understand why i found it so funny. So after I caught my breath, i explained to him that only my healthy hair is growing back.

I use my husband's electric razor. I am lucky because I "was" a blond so a little bit of stubble doesn't show that bad. But I definitely recommend electric razors if you need comfort.

Hello Sisters.

I love my shaven head and my son likes rubbing his hands over my head and telling me that my hair is gone. I refuse to cover my head and every one that knows me excepted it and support me. The only thing is being in South-Africa we don't have all the fancy razors and i'm stuck shaving with a normal razor and it hurts a bit, any advice?
Have a great day every one

Hello Sisters!

I just uploaded my video announcing the 2nd Annual National Bald Out™. Here are links to it on AW and on YouTube:

I put the entire text on the YouTube page under "more info" to help non-native speakers of English more easily understand it all. I hope we have lots of International participation this year. Spread the word! Mary

Hey Sisters! Haven't checked in in a while. Been recovering from pelvic surgery that I had during the holidays. I hope this message finds everyone doing well. I am much better.

Wonderful, Christa! You can start a Discussion on the National Bald Out Group for people in France, if they want to join Alopecia World.
