"The more of us who can find our way to simply 'be' bald, the sooner the world will make room for bald women as it has for bald men and we will no longer stand out in a crowd. "

Pam, you said it! This is the answer.

Hope the book is going well,
Mary

WOW can't wait to read your book!! I also have vitalogo on my hands and feet!! I'm attributing everything to my hypothyroidism and stress . I'm really happy to say no one really pays attention to the hands not sure of the reaction will be with bald head. I live in a samll town and know all the people in the stores and they all have been nice about everything . Let us know when the book comes out I can always use a good laugh or cry which ever!!! And I have to say I love your smile!!!!!!!

Hi Linda! Welcome. I only shaved my head once before it all fell out on its own, but that was a most liberating and empowering event. I wear no wigs - only hats when it gets cold (we're supposed to get snow in Michigan this weekend). I felt so alone then. I didn't know about AW and hadn't ever seen another bald woman in my city. Now I know of two others and have come so far that I am writing a book titled Boldly Bald Women to be published by Nightengale. I sent out questionnaires to women who wished to participate and have received back amazing responses. What strength and courage and humor we possess as women! Bald women are beginning to face themselves and the world without fear and without shame. The more of us who can find our way to simply 'be' bald, the sooner the world will make room for bald women as it has for bald men and we will no longer stand out in a crowd. This is an exciting time to be bald. We're part of a grass roots movement that has the potential to impact not only a whole country, but the whole world.

Hi Linda! I live in Arizona so I don't go outside without sunscreen on my head. Even after 2 years of going out and about with a bald head my head still sunburns. I also have tattoos on my head so I like to protect those too. I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer sunscreen because it isn't heavy and greasy but comes in high SPF's. I don't shampoo anymore. I just wash my head with face wash when I am washing my face. Good luck going out. Keep your head up proud and smile. It helps!
