Hi everyone - I'm in Hawaii on vacation, and loving (most of the time) my hairless state. It's great not to have to worry about hairy legs or underarms. Except for a sunhat when needed, I'm going everywhere bald...too warm for a scarf. Last week we went to a luau attended by about 500 people, and I had the master of ceremonies announce our anniversary, along with some other folks'. Steve and I stood up in the middle of the large room, and a spotlight shone off my bald dome. I felt fine - though the beautiful long hair on the dancers did make me a little sad. 4 women approached me during the evening to ask about my "cancer" - all of them were cancer survivors. It didn't bother me at all.

I can't imagine trying to deal with a wig - we've been spending days snorkeling at the beach, in and out of the water. It's been warm. It's just so easy to just be me. Hugs and aloha to all,
Mary

I share my Whal clippers with my Bedington terrier!!!!! She has not complained yet, she's just happy that it is not her turn. Soon as the buzzing starts Lilly hides. After all she is my best friend, & best friends share stuff don't they!

Yes Trixie, stay strong. You are about to embark on some new sensations. Go at your own pace and try to embrace everything in a positive light--there is a lot of positivity out there. You may have some moments when you want to be sad and feel sorry for yourself. It's okay to lament for a little while, but don't stay there--fight back. Like Sandy said, shaving is taking back control. I'm here and we're here if you need support. Welcome to the Sisterhood!
Happy Hugs,
Galena

Oh Thea!
I saw the piece on the MSNBC site. A concerned co-worker emailed it to me. Great interview and great exposure for us all. You and the ladies represented us so very well. You all looked so beautifully bald together.
Thank you~thank you~thank you:-)

Hi Sisters!

In case you didn't see the posts elsewhere on AW, here's an interview I did last Friday in connection with the National Bald Out:
