Hi Linda! Sorry you've been under the weather--glad that you're feeling better. I came out somewhat during a training class this week. The class was out of town, but I still ran into someone I knew. When I said "hello" initially they didn't know who I was. I'd lost 25lbs. and my hair since they last saw me. I wonder in most situations, would people really recognize me? Should I even say hello knowing that I will have to give an explanation about my appearance?

What do my sisters have to say about this social situation?

Hi gang, I've been sick, bronchitis and some weird female thing (LOL)! I love the ideas about a tshirt, I get those pity stares from some folks, like I have Cancer. I smile at them with confidence and they just look like, "and she's so positive", lol, oh well...
I look like a guy in a tshirt, but if I could lose my gut, I wouldn't care, I guess those 5 crunches aren't working on my gut, lol, gonna hafta kick it up a notch to 10!

I think that's a great idea! There are so many things that people want to say. If I can actually do this - I want all the opinions and ideas I can get!! To have this nationwide would be such a great thing.

Wonderful, Christie! Maybe we should start a new Forum discussion with ideas for T-shirts.

I've been thinking of getting one that says "I'm not sick" on the front, and "It's only Alopecia Areata" on the back.

Hey Ladies...
I am a printing broker - so if you want some t-shirts done up...let me know. I love all the ideas...I think I should start a gift shop on this site with all different types of products. We need to get the word out!!

Yes regrowth thats the thing it seems to stay for such a short time, so somethimes hard to get excited, Well Mary I try to walk around bald or , with a baseball cap, and at every chance I let others know there are some of us lovely ladies out in the world bald from alopecia, rarely do people know what this is. T-shirts being looked into with " Im not sick I have alopeica, dont be shy ask me about it"

Hi Sandy and Carol (and everyone)! Did I tell you that I recently began to regrow hair in two limited areas: the outer tip of one eyebrow (about a 1/4 diameter area), and my nose. Nothing anywhere else, not even fuzz. I'm not getting excited. Actually, I've been plucking most all of the eyebrow hairs as they're below my tattoo! How weird to REMOVE hairs after being hairless!

And, YES! Let's keep the bald lady trend going! I wish we could get bald women to all go out in public that way for ONE day...sort of like the National Smoke Out day. Imagine if all these bald heads popped out of the closet at once!

Thats the thing it regrows and give you false hope, like the bad boyfriend that keeps coming back,, sometimes better just to stay gone. no false hopes, / and really I have said it before I really think a lot of women look gorgeous bald, so lets keep the trend going.
