Hi Galena, I'm okay, chilling, grew this fuzzy 1/8 inch of hair on my head, it's cold her in PA and I needed a little fur, lol. Anyway, I shaved today, it was about 47 degrees here. So I'm BALD again and wow, it's so great, with the fuzz, I had to make sure it was not all sticking up and wirey by putting gel and other slicking aides on it. Let alone the spots which were more noticeable with the fuzz. My best girlfriend lives in Fayetteville, GA, she says it's cold as heck there. I can't wait until you experience the joy of the warm sun on your BALD head, you will wonder why you waited so long! Be good and stay blessed!

LOL!! Hey I was a pretty hairy chick so the slow growth there has been a bonus. How are you doing Linda? I've been doing okay. The weather is transitioning here in Georgia. Soon it will be too hot for wigs—my bald debut awaits!

Good for you Pamela, rock the AFRO, my daughter and grand daughter went natural last year, like the BALD head, the FRO is so expressive!
What's up Galena? About that intimate hair thing, I never had hair under my arms, never needed an antiperspirant!

Congrats to you Pamela! I'm still taking meds and seriously considering stopping. My next visit to the derm is next month. I will announce to her that I accept my hair loss and if it is to reverse, it will be without strong steroids and chemo drugs. I'm empowered from being here and I have you sisters to thank. If I notice nose hair and other hair in the intimate areas disappearing, then I might get back under treatment.

now this may sound funny but i shaved my head in late december and my hair has grown back in those bald spots. No treatment I stopped it about 8 months ago. My hair was not growing but falling out in bald spots the size of a golf ball, and now they have filled in pretty good. Now, I'm still wearing wigs but on the weekend I sport a short fro.

Ardel eyebrow stencil kit $3.49 http://www.beautyencounter.com/074764650719.html?synertech
Works well, 4 shapes, reasonably priced, I tried it last week and my brows were borderline flawless!

Hey Ladies!

Would anyone be interested in participating as a panelist for an open forum at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ?

The program is entitled, "What is Beautiful" and we will discuss the lengths that women have gone to achieve the standards of beauty, according to society, and have testimonials from young women and men with AA.
The event is to take place on April 21st at 9pm.
Rutgers Student Activities Center.

If anyone would need further information, please feel free to message me to discuss details.
Please get back to me as soon as possible :) Thanks.

As you can see from the picture of me with my original brows (the one taken the day I shaved my head), my brows had a mind of their own! I never wanted to pluck or shape them. Now, I have more "fashionable" brows that are lifted a little on the outside ends, which the woman who did my tattoos called a "mini-face lift". I didn't like it at first, because it wasn't "me". Now it is, and I get compliments on my eyes.

Thea,
You are so right when you said; Alopecia gives you the chance to have the brow that fits you best.

I have thin eyebrows and I have been filling in my sparsely eyebrows for years and now that I go without my wigs my eyebrows get noticed more. I remember going to a party where I didn't know a lot of the people and a woman came up to me saying “Wow, who does your eyebrows?” She took me by surprise when she came up to me out of the blue as if she wanted to touch my brow... I had to laugh and I just said “Thank You! I do them myself, but my secret is brow defining powder.” There are a lot of women with Alopecia and without who are in search of the Great Looking Eyebrow!

I want to check out your make-up line Thea, because I need to find the right color for my brow...I have noticed in pictures my brows look too brownish-red and the color I use is called "mink brown". Please let me know about your debut this summer.

Thanks Mary, I will wait for the travel size so that I can try it out, I have a lot of stuff I tried that didn't work sitting on my dresser, lol. I'm going to practice with the powder this weekend and see if I can perfect it for my meetings in DC next week. I'm excited!
