Hey,
I'm so glad to see a UK group on here.When you look around for help and support it feels like there's hardly any in the UK.I live in Edinburgh and thankfully the two wig/hair piece fitting shops in Scotland are here.I think it's so bad that there is no other shops in Scotland that deal with this.
Anyway,so nice to see this group.Anyone ever wants a chat,a moan or whatever,just drop me a line at meganlackie@hotmail.co.uk.

I started losing my hair at 3 years old. When I was 21 all my hair fell out and I have been wearing wigs ever since! I am now 32. Recently I have been finding it hard to cope with not having any hair so am really pleased I have found this site and can find some friends just like me.

Hi all,
I'm so glad I've found this group.
I was diagnosed in Feb and since then a lot more of my head hair has fallen out, I'm getting used to it although no one sees me without either a bandana or a hat on. My pink fringe was my pride and joy and I dreaded the day that alopecia ate into that also.
Well last night I had enough of watching my pink hair fall out so when I re shaved my head I also took off the fringe!
It was a shock but in all honesty it looks better, the patches are not so obvious when i have it on an open grade but once my head had been shaved again I noticed that in fact I now have 11 bald spots.....amazing how many spots half an inch of hair will cover!
I also noticed that my whole head has this speckled appearance, i think that's where it's thinning all over what hair i do have left.
Oh well, how bad can it get, it's only hair!
Hope to make a few friends here and hope we can share our experiences...
