HI everyone, Im from South Wales UK. I do not have hairloss but I attend the boards as I help people with hairloss by running a non profit wig donation site Wigs in Wales UK in memory of my mum. I run for many years a hairloss support group until msn closed their groups section. Anyone who would like a chat /support or the link for the site to view wigs on offer please contact me...
Thanks,
Julie .

Don't be nervous Kayleigh - unfortunately I won't be there as I'm on holiday - but you will be amongst some lovely people who I have met.

My son was diagnosed with alopecia 2 weeks ago, possibly connected with a knock to the head 8 weeks ago. The loss seemed to be quite rapid and then has slowed down and there has been no change in the last week. He is coping with it a lot better than I am!

Hi everybody

I'm from Glasgow and am new to this site.

I'm having issues with 3 patches of hair loss which is driving me mental (I'm sure you can sympathise).

Words to describe how I feel right now... desperation / panic / p*ssed off!!!

This is a great site though... I hope it helps me find acceptance if I don't find a cure.

Hi everybody.

My name is Dean and my 8 year old son Simon has Alopecia Universalis. He would love to chat and/or meet with other kids of his or a similar age.

He has struggled with it but with support from friends and family, (and some counselling), he is coming to terms with it.

However, he still feels he is the only one which is why sites such as these are so important. I have joined Alopecia UK and this site as well but because there are no childrens/parents of childrens sites that I can find, I have set up Alopecia Support for Kids - ASK. This site is on Facebook only at the moment but I hope to set up a web site dedicated to the support for Kids and Parents of kids.

Please take a look and join if you can, and now I have found this group, I will be able to show Simon that he is definitely NOT the only person in the world with Alopecia.

Dean & Simon.

Hi all, just to let you know the scale of events planned for Alopecia Awareness in the UK this year.

Very shortly there will be a nationwide campaign, which is very much under wraps at the moment, this will take place on the 28th June with a launch date targeted for early July.

Bebold will be holding a ball on September 12th 2009 with guests Gladiator Amazon and Warrior plus X-Factors Bad lashes. Also singing is up and coming artist Ashlea Pearson and our very our much loved Michelle Chapman.
