Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)
Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.
If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Hmm...I posted here a month or two ago asking if everyone wants Dr. Jiwani (the ND) to speak to our group..I thought there was no interest... I guess everyone missed the post!
I contacted her then - didn't tell her about our group, but asked her about her alopecia and her success in treating patients with alopecia. She said she has had success. She wanted to see me for a consultation. I left it at that.
@Karina Welcome!! :) I'm looking forward to meeting you! Yes tell us more after your consultation!
@btflbaldgrrl Indeed! In fact, we need a list of ALL local NDs and Derms! So we can drop off our group contact info, and be found. Would anyone like to help with this task? (Unless it's as simple as taking a page from the yellow pages?)
xoxo
Can we pull together a list of local NDs with whom people have had good experiences? Would be useful to share with people who are newly diagnosed. Move over derms!!
I tried to contact this ND just to ask questions a few years ago and she never responded to my emails or phone calls. Maybe she is uber busy! I too would be very interested, Karina, in what she has to say and if it differs from what any of the other Naturopaths that all of us have seen/are seeing.
Ooo! You will have to report back Karina! I am thinking of making one too . . . For me, but also to see if she would be willing to connect with the community.
Is anyone familiar with this ND? She has AA! We should invite her to speak to us . . . with us . . .
Silkhead: thanks so much for working on the calendar.
Hey all,
For one, I would be down for a weekend trip to Seattle for the NAAF event. Even if it's just you and me Jana (Bald Grrl).
Secondly, I am a newbie at this Gmail Calendar, but I am working on it at the moment. I am adding all the addresses I have that were sent to the email to the calendar. That way we should all be able to access the calendar, then plan a time in may.
It would be cool if we could make it so Connie could be there. Life must really be rough Connie. That sounds so amazing. Guatemala to Spain. Ooh, can you pack me next time you go? haha.
I'll send updates as we go.
Deanne: Yes, we just got back from Guatemala...and we're off to Spain in May...I know, life is rough :)
