Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

@JLo Excellent idea! I like the idea of one person taking care of the beverages too!

@Connie Don't prep any food!

Re: BGDL I see! I wasn't sure how it is different than friends getting together for lunch, but now I see it is also about awareness, yeah? A large table of bald girls at a bustling restaurant will gain a lot of attention for sure! :)

Hello, just a thought about food etc for our gathering...maybe the host shouldn't provide food as they are providing the home?
Also, I am going to bring an assortment of beverages so no need to worry about that. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

We had dinner (not lunch) at a place in Seattle. I believe they have it at a restaurant that is well-known to the area, and you basically get together and talk to others. I would say it's very similar to what we do when we meet in Vancouver.

Do tell! And I mean that as an exclamation and a request for more information. ; )

We did a BGDL in Seattle a couple years ago. We only had a few girls, but did have someone who flew in from Denver to attend.

Well I will check in with Thea again then, and see what we can do to make sure BGDL comes to Vancouver! : )

I like the idea of having a Bald Girls do lunch. I've checked out the BGDL site quite a few times, and Vancouver was on the calendar before - but they had cancelled it. A little disappointing! It seems that many of the lunches are on the east coast...but it would cool to do it here in Vancouver.

Bald Girls Do Lunch, on NPR. I was in contact with Thea before Xmas, and she is keen to give us information on how we can bring a Lunch here.

Too funny about the autograph. I look forward to meeting up with everyone (new and old (not age related). See you soon.
