Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Upcoming Meetups

This group gets together monthly at one of the members' homes - a cozy, positive, and fun environment, for those with alopecia. We are here to support one another, and every meetup has been amazingly mood-lifting.

Join us here and we'll send next meeting details to you in a group email!

You can always get a hold of us via AW messaging or at alopecia.vancouver[at]gmail.com

We are affiliated with CANAAF (Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation).

Next meet up: We meet about once a month. Please email Tanya at the emil address above!

Hope you all have a great time with Sandra - unfortunately, I am unable to fly down at this time. I hope to meet up with you all sometime soon.

I am going to start a discussion for useful Facebook and Twitter links . . . This new piece was promoted on FB by "Alopecia Connection and Education, ACE." which is apparently, only one month old on FB.

@Tanya, I like the idea of the google meeting scheduler. Sounds like a good thing. Although it is always hard to get a large group of busy women together and make a specific date work.

Thanks Tanya. Once I settle in I'll text you my suite number:)
I'll ensure I text the info to anyone who's coming.

@SilkHead @Chris I feel the same too. Initially I thought I was here to give not to receive, but I've been growing, learning, and getting inspired by this group. It's been amazing.

@JBean Aw I wish you could come to the next one too! Perhaps we can try the Google meeting scheduler as a better way for us to decide on the meet up date so more people can make it.

@Sandra Thanks for hosting this and inviting us! I can't wait to meet you! I shared your hotel address with the group, but not sure if a suite number is missing...?

SilkHead - you have echoed my own feelings - thinking that I had healed a lot of things, but I too still have work to do - some things still not resolved, but I am working on it. I look forward to meeting you at one of our future get-togethers!
