A group for Wisconsinites to meet and greet. We also welcome Wisconsinite friends and folks who have been here and love our state as we do. Remember if you don't have anything kind to say about our Midwest accent, best not to say anything at all:).

Jean, I wish I would have known you were there! I would have made a point to say hi! Glad you could make it. I thought the girl scouts did a great job and from the sounds of things the event was a huge success.
This brings me to the next event. My family is getting together with another Milwaukee area family to put together a HUGE event on Sept 9th. We do not have all the details yet but I can tell you that it will be held at the Milwaukee Harley Davidson dealership, and will include a motorcycle ride for those who are interested. The ride is only a portion of the event though. The majority of the event will take place at the dealership. We will have at least two bands playing, and there will be food and drink. There will also be a huge area for kids including a dunk tank, bounce houses, face painting, kid carnival games, and much much much more. We will also be doing a silent auction and have already began gathering some awesome items. I invite you all to attend!
If anyone is interesting in helping at all with the event we would surely welcome it. We are looking for more volunteers or people who may be able to gather some items for the auction. Any and all ideas are welcome. Please let me know if you would like to be involved!
Rose, thanks for including us. I won't be able to attend an evening meeting but please let me know if there is something else that I can do from the Madison area. I didn't see this on the August NAAF calendar; have you notified them of the meeting?
Hi everyone. Dubuque, Iowa's first NAAF Alopecia supprot group meeting will be held Thursday, August 2 from 7-9 in Mercy Medical Center conference room 1-F. Our first meeting will be sharing stories and meeting everyone. Dubuque, IA is across the Mississippi from severe southwestern Wisconsin. You are all welcome to come, we'd love to have you! Rose
Hi Josh and Kiah, My husband and I attended the Bowl-a-thon. Even though we didn't bowl and only stayed for a short time, I was super impressed with the event! We ended up with several of the auction items. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. I thought I would recognize you from your picture on this site, but I didn't. My daughter is now 25 years old. Part of me wishes that we had something like this event to attend while our daughter was going through it. I am so thankful my daughter found this site. The internet is fairly a new phenomenon. We didn't have access to the internet when she was in her early teens. Thanks for letting us know about this fun event
Hi Josh and Kiah - Thanks for letting us know! Hope a friend and I can make it...as well as many others. I will take a peek at the NAAF website now.
Leenda - Very sorry to hear about your son's diagnosis but we do become stronger through friendships.
Thanks, Josh and Kiah, for the fundraising information; I hope some of us can be there. With relatives in the Milwaukee area, I'll definitely be asking them to reserve the 6th. Hope you are well also!
Hello all,
I just wanted to share some information I have about a couple of events that will be going on in our area in the coming months. First, I have been talking with a girl scout troop leader in Brookfield who is planning a Bowl-a-thon to support NAAF. One of the girls in the troop has AA and they are doing the event to support her. The event is to held on May 6 at Bowlero in Brookfield. I will post more details as they become available.
Also, there is another group (Stilettos on Steel) out of Sussex that will be doing a fundraiser/awareness motorcycle ride preceded by a kids party the night before. I do not yet have dates on this but I will share as soon as I get them. If anyone is interested let me know I can share more of what I know!
Hope everyone is well.
My son was just diagonosed. It's a big sigh of relief to know that others in Wisconsin are sharing our same story.
