Greetings All!

Summer has (finally) arrived and I hope everyone is doing well. As we all know our brief Wisconsin summer calenders fill up quickly so we wanted to send out an update with some information about upcoming events. The SE Wisconsin Alopecia Network has grown significantly over the past year and we would like to welcome all the new families. We look forward to meeting you at one of the following upcoming events!

Support Group Meetings

There has been growing interest in setting up a support group meeting so we will be organizing one the weekend after Memorial Day. The support group works best when there are people with a variety of experiences in attendance. Whether you are looking to share your experiences and ask questions or feel you can offer advice and support to others, we hope to see you there! Since it is short notice we would like to ask the everyone which of the following dates work best for you before we set it. If you are interested in attending please let us know by this Friday (May 24) so we can set the date. Please give us a few options so we can try to accomodate as many people's schedules as possible.

Thursday May 30 - Evening
Friday May 31 - Evening
Saturday June 1 - Morning, Afternoon or Evening
Sunday June 2 - Afternoon or Evening

Future times and dates of meetings will be based on the needs of the group. If you are interested but cannot attend the first meeting please let us know so we can include you in the next one!

Hi Rose,

This 3rd support group meeting at the park sounds like a possible trip; it's on my calendar. Per Mapquest, Dubuque is 1 hour and 47 minutes from Madison; however, it looks like this park is north of Dubuque which may save some time? I'll email you as the date gets closer. Thanks. Susan

Hi everyone! Dubuque, Iowa's third Alopecia support group meeting will be Sunday, June 9 at noon. We'll be having a picnic at Eagle Point Park in Dubuque, IA. Dubuque is across the Mississippi from southwestern Wisconsin. You are all welcome to come, we'd love to have you! If you need directions or to RSVP (please!) message me or email me at sherukagirl@gmail.com. Thanks everyone! Rose

Spring is finally arriving in our Madison area; hope those of you in the northern areas will be experiencing it soon. It's been a long winter; although I'm ready for spring, I hate to think of losing the opportunity to wear my winter hats (and no wig). And, mentally, I think of my fur-lined, down-coat hoods as that hair that is no longer there:). (I feel like winter gives me the chance to hibernate inside all of that winter clothing.) Feel free to share any stories about coping with the heat! Susan

Melissa, welcome to the Wisconsin group, and thank you for joining. It's nice to know where everyone is located just in case there's someone else in close proximity who would like to get together. I'm always happy to meet with anyone in the Madison area! ((Hugs))Susan

We had a great turnout! It went very well. Just wanted to pass along Kiah and her sisters latest endeavor... The Alopecia Rock Anthem Music Video! You can check it out on here or on youtube at

Also, if you have a moment please vote for Kiah, and other local kids Ava and Taylor H. for Americans Next Top Alopecia Model!

Hello Melissa - Thank you for joining our Wisconsin group and creating a CAP Kids chapter for Wisconsin. As I write this, I'm recalling when the CAP Kids began forming back in 2002?

Welcome to our group, Charlie1979.

Josh and Kian- I'm sorry to have missed the posting about the Feb 7 game. Did you have a good turnout from the Milwaukee area?
