?hello :) Concerning wigs for Ruth, Synthetic wigs are cheaper can be found in a wide range of styles n colours, but ae certainly no way near as comfortable as a good human hair wig! I have heaps of synthetics! But I've recently invested in a freedom wig. The benefits of the freedom wig go on & on! Comfort fit, being able to style n die them. Also I can swim in it & go on rollercoasters! If u don't have much hair on ur head i highly recomend having a look into them! My hair comes n goes in patches so I have to shave it everyday to wear my freedom hair. Hope that helps a bit. Celebrity wigs is a Aussie wig company where I buy my synthetics, also lippy in the malls cells thre wigs

sounds great. yes we have certainly had a tough time here in Christchurch just so sad to see our beautiful city in ruins. I am fortunate I live on the West side so we only had minor damage but I work on the eastern side of town and have to drive through the war zone every day. Anyway thanks for replying and Iwill look forward to meeting others sometime

I'm happy to meet anyone in ChCh (I've been AU since I was 4 - worn wigs, bald, hats etc) - I know a few others (not on this site) may be keen aswell. The alopeciaNZ website should (barring anymore quakes) be ready in the next few weeks and I'd love to see a ChCh event - times are tough down here, stress and all that so if people want to talk Im more than happy.

Hi Ruth I see you are from Christchurch I also live in Ch Ch. I have had Alopecia for just over 3 years after a year my hair grew back in again but for the last 6 months has fallen out again. I also find wigs very uncomfortable . Would love to have contact with you sometime if you are interested it would be so good to meet someone else here . I am married and have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren

Hi there
Wonder if anyone can advise me please re synthetic versa hair wigs - what sort is better ? Been told real hair ones are very hard to care for - is this ? correct. Have several synthetic wigs but not all that comfortable - where does one buy / get help with fitting them. I'm in Christchurch and would really appreciate advice - guess the quakes make one feel more insecure !!
Thanks
Ruth E
