How's it going? I ordered the Spirulina today, and I want to take it when it comes, but I am also kinda-sorta trying to get pregnant, so I am not sure....going to ask my doctor
Hi Dawn, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Welcome! I just found this website a few days ago, and it's very helpful. It sounds like you and I have almost the exact some issue....my first spot was also above my right ear, well hidden. I reacted the same way as you...and I am still freaking out at times! It is very very scary and hard to understand. I went to a new dermatologist this past Friday and she said it is highly unlikely I will lose all of my hair. Stress isn't the CAUSE, but it's a huge factor in why it happens. She told me to stick with the treatment plan, relax and go to yoga...haha. Me? Yoga? yeah right! Here is what I want to tell you...
Be a little prepared for the spot to get bigger (see my pics), because most likely it will. Start seeing the derm right away...they will give you injections and cream and it should work...mine started to grow back within weeks..then it sprouted! And try very hard to not think about it...as hard as that is!
I also take prenatal vitamins and 1,000 mcg of Biotin every day...if you want super long nails and shiny hair :)
