Well a big Happy Birthday! I hadn't realised sorry. I hope your day is a good one.
Hope you get spoilt.
Yes when it comes to our children we wish that we could protect them from all the bad things in the world. Unfortunately that is not possible. Enjoy your son Jenny. They grow up so quickly. When they are young they are definately special times.
It is hard not to stress about something when you have no control over it. So I guess it is a vicious circle. Don't be hard on yourself or expect too much. Relax, enjoy your son. Remember who you are and what your about. Pamper yourself. You deserve it. Surround yourself with those who care about you. Make sure you communicate. That is why this site is so good. People hear will listen to you time and again and will continue to support you as they are living with what you are going through.
Sorry i can go on a bit. Hope you have a very special Birthday
Susan
Well the doctors say that Alopecia unpredictable but it is more than likely to be ongoing. Though he may grow some hair but it will more than likely fall out again in time. That is the nature of the disease.
Yes most men do look good bald. Makes them look more masculine or something. '
Jon did shave off the small amount of hair that he had left but you can see that it has fallen out too (no dark roots showing).
How are you coping?
Regarding your eyelashes, if you apply Latisse (it's a prescription that you can get through your derm) it will prevent your eyelashes from falling out.
It's so funny about your doctor. I wrote about that very thing in my book, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (You might want to look into it -- check it out on my page.)
Actually alopecia isn't caused by stress, but it can be triggered by stress. It can also be triggered by many other things including hormones and illness. And of course it's impossible not to be stressed when you are having issues with your hair falling out!
Hugs, LeslieAnn
