I've been living with Alopecia Areata for 13 years, and feel I'm about at my limit...
Always had a few patches, but in the last 2 years it has gotten worse and now I'm wearing clip in hair pieces to help disguise and give my hair more volume.
Still hoping it will stop falling out and grow back, but starting now to think I might be dealing with this forever.
So this is my first step to begin dealing with it, and accept this disease as a part of me.
I truly believe it has given me more strength and courage than I thought I would ever have.
Hey Jessie, how are you going? Sorry for the late reply. A one-bedroom sounds pretty good, and Coburg is nice & central. I'm moving back to Richmond in 2 weeks time, but it's again not permanent - I am going to be a bit of a nomad for a while yet! Oh well, not having a mortgage or a set lease means I can head off traveling again once I've saved up again, so it's all good! I love traveling too :)
I'm at uni part-time this semester, finishing off a degree from a few years back just for the sake of finishing something. I'm not too sure what I'll do after that, but I'm thinking about maybe studying something unrelated post-grad. What do you do for work?
Yeah sometimes I do get jealous of other people's hair, especially their eyelashes!
I'm living in Ascot Vale right now, but only for another month. Hope to stay somewhere around the inner city though. I've lived in quite a few different suburbs of Melbourne over the years. Whereabouts are you?
Snowboarding is so much fun! That's cool that you're going to learn. I can't help you on where to go in Vic though, because I've only been in Canada! I lived there for over a year. I'm planning to go to New Zealand this winter to get some riding in though, from what I hear the snow is a lot better there than in Oz.
