Is there an adrenal fatigue connection to alopecia?

Started Sep 17, 2013 0 Replies

I have had alopecia since I was 16 but never really showed visible signs til I had breast reduction surgery 2 years ago. Then my hair got progressively worse and I had to buy a 3 quarter wig. I went…Continue

"Hi Kat, I was just wondering how your hair growth was coming along? Are you still taking baricitinib? I’m hoping to start the medication soon. I have not had any luck with xeljanz. "

"I'm like Elizabeth.  I was completely hairless 2 years ago.  I'm about to make 70 weeks on Baricitib, and have regrow very thin and lightly colored body hair.  I've also regrown snow white hair on about 20% of my scalp,…"

"Glad to hear this worked for you, Kat. Would love to hear how things are now. I was in this trial for 76 weeks and unfortunately I had no regrowth on my head, though I did regrow body hair."

"Biotin is helpful but I feel like Rogaine is basically snake oil. I also don't really want to put additional chemicals on my scalp while I'm still under medical supervision. My hair is finally all here, it's just thinner on the crown…"

Success With Baricitinib!

Hi, my name is Kat and I'm 42. I have been in a medical trial with Eli Lilly since March 7th of last year in Dallas and I'm just curious who else out there has been on a trial for this drug?? I wanted to share my experience because I had a tiny bit of hair to start with (86 percent hair loss), but had lost all eyebrows and eyelashes by the time I got to participate in this trial. I actually shaved my head totally just before the trial so that my researchers could have a real idea of the…See More

"My two cents: I'm 42 and have had alopecia since I was 16.  When I started out, I was given corticosteroid shots in the head.  They worked then but as I have gotten older they don't now.  I also had a surgery for breast…"

Advil liquigels for spots?

Posted on May 17, 2016 at 10:57am 1 Comment

Okay, so I was thinking about something... Researchers have developed topical Ruxolitinib, right? So I have a question - Has anyone tried poking holes in Advil Liquigels to apply to the scalp to see if that might have any effect? I mean, Ruxolitinib was developed for arthritis to tamp down inflammation, Advil is an OTC anti inflammatory. Id love any feedback about this.

Paranoid of trusting my hair won't fall out again

I am 37 and have had alopecia since i was 16. For the most part, I have been lucky. Id only have a quarter size patch underneath u couldnt see...until 3 years ago when i had breast reduction surgery for which i was anesthetized. I know there is a connection to this, but not my main focus here. In the last several months i have been sticking to a strict vitamin regimen. I believe the MSM portion has helped me grow much of my hair back. I have been on the fence waiting for Xeljanz or…

People on the trials blog posts missing

Posted on February 28, 2015 at 12:30am 4 Comments

Hello. Is anyone else noticing that the blog posts from the man on the Yale trials and the woman on the Stanford trials that have been posting about their experiences are missing? I can't find either of their blogs now and i know they were there earlier this week. Are they being censored? Anyone know? Or did i somehow just not find either of their blogs today?

Lustrous Hair herbal supplement from Sprouts

Has anyone tried this? I am curious and normally don't buy supplements geared towards such things, but most of the ingredients were Chinese, and it seemed to be full of roots and things that looked legit on Web MD. It was also only $15.99, which while not cheap is not expensive either and seemed worth a shot. I just began a gluten free diet ten days ago and am taking methylsulfylmethane and glucosamine with condroitin currently. While nothing is a miracle cure, it can still turn out to be a… Continue
