I love life, my daughter, my boyfriend, my sister, my dogs, Elvis Presley, Betty Paige, chocolate, coffee, hot weather, Da' Bears, Chicago Cubbies, drawing, painting and sooo much more.
I have had alpecia areata since I was 4. I have never had a full head of hair on my head, only patches. I have covered it with hats, scarfs but never wigs. I don't have the confidence for wigs. If I could walk around bald, I so would. The prob with that is my natural hair color is black so when its shaved, my head looks like the globe. Asia on the right and the United states on the left..LOL...so I have never been confident to go fully head nude. But some day, I will rip off the bandana and get a burn on the noggin. I have eyebrows and eyelashes and I have never had to deal with out those. I am one of the crazy people who pay to get the Adam Corolla brows waxed..(ok they aren't that bad). The rest of the body hair is patchy, so leg shaving isn't a daily ritual like some.
I love being different, because I am unforgetable.
God Bless

Hi Rachel,
Don't worry about not wanting to go bald in public. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it's great if people want to, but for me it's sort of like showing my underwear -- I only want to do that at home!
I just wanted to say hello and that I've had au for 20 years.
