- Hello all. I am 27 and a full time student right now. I was diagnosed with alopecia Areata just over a year ago, but first noticed my symptoms two years ago with two little bald patches appearing. I have seen numerous dermatologists in Las Vegas over the last year, had revision surgery done on one of the spots to close it up( do not do this, it has gotten worse and now I have a scar), and have received one round of corticosteroid shots all over the head. I was trying Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments (He Shou Wu & Si Wu Tang herbal supplements with acupuncture on the affected area) for 6 months and have seen no change. My hair is now thinning all over and the two spots seem to be growing. The last doctor is saw March 2021 recommended Minoxidil, but I am skeptical because of the side affects. Coming here for some hope and knowledge about this disease as I continue on my journey to find a solution!

Did you ever try prescription hope the cost of meds is $50. a month and they got me Xeljanz for years. its based in Florida not California. phone: 1-877-296-4673, but you do need to have insurance, because when I was looking for a job I lost my prescription from them. I have new job but in between insurance I will contact them again they make those drug companies give up the meds in reasonable cost $50. a month for xeljanz they send 3 months supply at a time.
