Hello,I'm new to this site but not Alopecia. I've had Alopecia for nearly 20 years of my life. I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm struggling with it....my confidence is through the roof and so should yours. Please do not let this condition get you down. You are not Your hair!
I'm located in Modesto California....and am interested in getting a support group started and am also in the beginning stages of wigmaking.
Do you have alopecia? (Choose appropriately)

Are you age 18 or older?

Yes, Benechia it seems we do have a lot in common. My alopecia escalated from totalis to universalis when I gave birth to my son in 2008. It seems when my body goes through extreme stress, that is when my alopecia is affected the worse. I started learning how to ventilate a lace wig last month. I am finding the process to be relaxing. I recently started my own lace wig business to serve other women who experience hair loss. I am excited about taking this journey. We need to stay in contact with each other to network, share tips, and build a friendship!
Hi!! Just stopped by to say hey.. I like what you said about not letting Alopecia get us down! You are right; we are NOT our hair!! Have a great week! Thanks for sharing the inspiration! :)
Thanks Benechia - I am still awake at 3am, just paniced and beside myself with anxiety and despair. I'm still in the why is this happening, what did I do to be punished stage. Cannot cope even with a counselors help. It gives me a slight sense of peace to have found this site and caring ppl like you to talk with. Thanks.
oh me too <3 i've been shopping for the past three days straight for some back to school clothes and i'm exhausted ! but happy to have gotten some great items (:
well my face makeup is my Clinique . i use a range of other makeup brands for my eyes , lips , etc . mostly drugstore because it's so easily accessible . i love Loreal HIP eye shadows and pigments for my eyes & Revlon lipsticks (: those are my top picks .
