Can you dye a synthetic wig?? I had someone give me one but its way too light,needs to be 3 or 4 shades darker???

My daughters getting married in jan and I would love to have a wig .I don't want to ruin the pics for her. The thing is I don't have any money.I was injured in a car accident in feb and haven't worked since. My hair has all fallin out in the last 2 months.
