First of all I would like to apologize for not being on the site more often. You are all wonderful people with interesting and inspiring stories to tell.

A little about me. I was diagnosed with Alopecia 10 years ago when I was 15. Its been a tough road for me and my loved ones. Has anyone seen The Good Life? The main character has alopecia and I liked how the writers and the director portrayed it. It was an issue that the character dealt with but it didnt define his whole life or take over the main message of the movie. It said just enough. At least I think so.

So, I have this amazingly "awesome" cold that has decided to reek havoc on my nose, eyes and take away all of my energy. Because of this I have been doing a lot of sitting and I have noticed some very annoying aspects of my version of alopecia. I am having some regrowth, yeah!! But not where I want it to be.... It seems that this disease thought it would be funny to try and regrow the hair in between my eyebrows but not the actual eyebrows. So, now I am sick and have the startings of a unibrow.… Continue

So, I was searching the web today and I couldnt find any new developments in alopecia research. Maybe i just suck really bad at searching the web but it upset me. there are no new findings and it makes me feel like nobody cares about it. if people do get grants to research on it shouldnt there be updates or something online. i would think it would be news worthy.

Lately everywhere I go someone has given me a compliment on how beautiful I look bald. It’s a nice unexpected change. I believe that it is because I made a choice to walk out the door with a smile on my face every day.
