Yesterday (4/25) was my 1 year bald anniversary! I’m alive! I successfully completed my first full marathon this weekend at the Rock ‘n Roll Mardis Gras Marathon in New Orleans this past Sunday with my Dad. We had beautiful weather (sunny and in the 50s), and there were over 15,000 runners! I was so nervous the week leading up to my race, but on race day I was surprisingly focused and calm. There were about 15 corrals of runners that were started in waves so that there wasn’t a stampede. My goal time was 20 minutes longer than my Dad’s, so…

Good morning fellow AW'ers! I have a quick story to share: this morning while I was in the gym locker room the lady next to me asked if I was undergoing chemotherapy. (I don't wear my wig at the gym, just a baseball cap over my bald head, and I'm certainly not shy about going bald in the locker room.) I have been losing my eyebrows and eyelashes for the past few months, but the process has seem to sped up recently, and I have accepted the fact that I will soon have to draw my eyeybrows in and possibly wear fake eyelashes sometime in the near future. Does anyone have any great products that they use for drawing their eyebrows in? Any great fake eyelash products? I'm also not really sure how to even draw my eyebrows in....I'm kind of nervous...! Within the past 4 days I have noticed that my eyebrows are quickly disappearing from my face. This is hitting me a little bit harder than I thought. You see, when I finally shaved my head this past April and got a beautiful new wig, I felt like a brand new person! Hi everyone! So yesterday and today were HUGE days for me! I met with Karen Peterik of Freedom Wigs yesterday, and she was absolutely inspiring!
