Last night I caught sight of myself in the mirror with my real hair pulled back in a pony tail with my many bald spots showing through. And I thought, that's it - it's time, I look hideous. I discussed it with my hubby who played devil's advocate and stressed to me that there was no turning back once I did it so to make sure I was sure. As he put it, I can still throw on a hat and go to the store (with my real hair) or around the house.....but you can't hide bald!

This morning as I got ready for work and drove here, I had butterflies in my stomach and felt like a kid going to her first day at a new school. All weekend long I dreaded Monday morning knowing I was going to wear my new wig for the first time to work. I never expected the response I got when I walked in the door today. Six weeks ago I found my first little spot...it is now the size of a baseball. A mere six weeks later, I have 7 large bald spots and several more smaller ones. I haven't had much time to adjust to having alopecia; however I feel blessed to have found this site.
