When the worst thing happens at work

Hi anyone and everyone who might read this. Yesterday I went into work for the first time since I got my wig (I have a job where I can work from home if I want to). I had been dreading going in because these were the people who I knew might say something because they've known me a long time, but people I don't feel close enough to to bear my soul and all my travails with my hair. The person I was most concerned about is the guy whose office is next to mine (I'll call him Jim). He's a real…

First (and 2nd) wig!

Hello anyone who might read this. Well, I did it--I cut off my hair today! I now have two beautiful wigs. I will post some photos tomorrow hopefully. They will still take some getting used to--I look VERY different and I am unaccustomed to having brushable/combable hair! But so far so good. I admire you all who have been on this journey so much.

For me, one thing that is…

While it was fun, I kept thinking over and over how this will be the last time anyone on my husband's side of the family will see me with my natural hair. The little girls loved playing with my hair and I was just so nervous about them making a comment about my growing bald spots. Thankfully they did not. But ack.. why do I…

New member saying hello to you all

Hello everyone. I just found and joined this site last night. First, I wanted to say that I am grateful this site exists. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for information on how to exercise in a wig. It looks like an amazing community and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Second, a little about me. I am in my mid-30s and was diagnosed last year with scarring alopecia. When that diagnosis came in April, it was like my whole life felt shattered. I had been worried about…
