I am looking to get a new wig over the internet. I went last time 2 hours away to find a salon to get one, and I spent 400.00, and looks ratty after one month. Are there any brands that anyone knows of that are precut and shaped, so I don't have to make a 2 hour trip to get it cut? Oh ya, and a piece of advice---- if you are wearing a wig, don't try and broil anything---that is how mine got so ratty :)
Thanks

Hi there,
I have recently started purchasing wigs. I decided to go to www.wilshirewigs.com. They were so helpful and understanding!! I spoke with a girl named Amanda. They rushed my wig overnight to Canada (from Hollywood) so i would have it for my big "shave" day.
Since then, I have purchased a few off Ebay for very cheap prices...I'm still waiting to see how they turn out.

Uh, I did the cheap Ebay thing (about $20 delivered from China) from two different vendors. Both of them arrived looking like a plush long-haired guinea pig with the stuffing removed. Seriously, it was almost worth $40 for the belly laughs, but I would NEVER wear either of them. I, too, have had good luck with Wilshire Wigs. I have purchase four of them from there. I haven't had to cut them at all. I bought 3 synthetics (one Sophia Loren and two Revlon) and one human hair (forget the manufacturer). I would definitely go for a monofilament cap, because it looks like a real part. Even good friends have thought they were my real hair. I say they are my real hair...I bought and paid for them! LOL

LOL...Nants...you are too funny!! I received one wig in from China - I have to say..it looks "somewhat" like the wig in the picture...but when you put it on..HA HA HA...My 2 year old looks hilarious in it - and my 8 year old think she looks like Miley Cyrus. So maybe they too can have some fun with my wigs. So, to this date...I still prefer the more expensive one from wilshire wigs. I have taken some pictures, so I will have to post them. The ones with my kids wearing the wigs are soooooo funny!!

Price is the determining factor when purchasing a wig that looks like your own hair or one that you want to wear. I have two vacuum cap wigs (New Hair Technology) which cost a fortune. This type of wig allows so much freedom but they are hot in the summer or in warm climates. For really hot days I prefer to wear conventional wigs and I like human hair. I have purchased from Paula Young (paulayoung.com) because the price is reasonable for wigs that I have seen on other sites for far more money. I have to alter the wigs I buy for Paula Young since I have a small head and I usually buy a wig in a page boy style so that I can take it to my hairdresser and have it cut into the style that looks best on me. Sometimes the styling of a wig may take two to four cuts before it's the way I think it should look. Also if you go this route, buy the clip with the adjustable strap to keep the wig in place while your hairdresser is cutting it.

Hope this was helpful & Good Luck.
