I finally did it, I git tiered of holding on to what little hair I had left and shaved it off. I was a little nervous at first, but after I was done it felt liberating. I was no longer holding on to that little bit of hair that was left. I quite like my bald head.

Good for you! I bet you feel more free than ever, check my blog, "Independence Day", I shaved my head about two weeks ago...I should have done it a long time ago. I've never felt more free and better yet, I'm free to be me.

I am nearing this point. It was suggested to me by a close friend a few weeks ago and I was horrified at the idea. I have lost more hair since this suggestion, and am now considering this as an option. I have put the idea 'out there' with my husband, to get his thinking about this as a possibility. I just don't know if it will make me feel better or worse.
I have 3 small parts with hair left on the top of my head, so comb-overs aren't enough, while the back of my head seems thin but mostly covered still. My wig keeps my going while I am out and about, and a woolen hat (it is winter in the southern hemisphere) while I am at home.
When does it get to the point when you just shave it?
How the hell to you find the courage?
I find it hard enough to tell people my new hairstyle is a fake, let alone be completely starkers underneath!
At least if I wear a hat to go for a walk, I have a bit of whispy hair to show under it.

I just can't believe how brave members of this website are. I hope that one day I can feel like that.

Stacey my advice is to do it!!! In the end i got so fed up with all the hair everywhere, it was a bit of an impulsive thing but as soon as I did it I wondered why it had taken me so long, it felt amazing. Your wig will be MUCH more comfortable, you wont be constantly worried about how much hair you have lost in a day, you wont have hair EVERYWHERE....if you are already in a wig and your hair is still falling I can't recommend it enough, instantly removes so much stress from the situation and I think you'll be surprised at how much easier it is to look at yourself in the mirror with a shaved head rather than head of straggly bits of hair. I shaved mine once I had around 60% loss, best thing I did as it's all gone now and I think it would have been much more painful and not as easy to cope with had I not shaved it off before it fell out. Do it, you wont regret it :-)

I hear ya! I know exactly what you are talking about. I did't realize I was holding on to the little hair I had until I got the idea in my head to shave it off. I also didn't realize how that ugly, pathcy dry mess was making me feel (awful) until it was GONE. I felt so much better the instant it was on the floor. Now I try to see how close of a shave I can get. If it's not a complete head of beautiful hair I do not want it hanging around at all.
